Esta es una de las tiendas del Instituto de Seguridad Social y Servicios a los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) más icónicas del país. El inmueble tiene valor histórico pues anteriormente fue la Tienda de la Secretaria de Hacienda y Crédito Público y anteriormente fue un taller de grabado e imprenta. Estas tres fases de uso y ocupación del inmueble pueden ser observadas si se pone atención tanto de la fachada, como de su estructura interna.
Las tiendas del ISSSTE sufrieron tiempos de escacez en los antiguos años, sin embargo han estado repuntando lentamente. Tienen un surtido básico y variado de productos de primera necesidad y están abiertas al público. Uno de sus encantos es tanto el edificio cómo algunos de los empleados que ahí laboran, son parte importante de este barrio antiguo de la Ciudad de México desde hace, al menos, 50 años o más.
Sus instalaciones tienen esa respetuosa renovación que no reemplaza ni plagia la historicidad del inmueble. Sus pisos están pulidos pero preservan las marcas de uso que su edad implica.
Sus precios se encuentran dentro de la media y hay varios productos que son más económicos que las tiendas de conveniencia o las cadenas comerciales transnacionales. Muchos de sus productos son marca líder, aunque también se encuentran productos de manufactura local y de pequeños empresarios, así que contribuye a la economía sustentable de empresas mexicanas. También ofrece pagos de servicios, recargas y cajero para las tarjetas de pensión de adultos mayores.
Está abierta a todo público y a los trabajadores del estado les ofrece descuentos, así como a sus jubilados y pensionados.
Durante varias décadas las tiendas del ISSSTE fueron reguladores de precios de la canasta básica, había días en que se hacían filas inclusive para pasar a comprar. Sus clientes frecuentes son retirados que tienen descuentos en el lugar, algunos mayoristas y vecinos de la zona.
Las tiendas ISSSTE son una prestación económica respaldada por la Constitución Mexicana, aún son reguladoras de precios y fuente de la Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor (PROFECO).

This is one of the most iconic stores of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) in the country. The property has historical value since previously it was the Store of the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit and previously it was an engraving and printing workshop. These three phases of use and occupation of the property can be observed if attention is paid to both the façade and its internal structure.
ISSSTE stores suffered from shortages in the old years, but have been slowly rebounding. They have a basic and varied assortment of basic necessities and are open to the public. One of its charms is both the building and some of the employees who work there, have been an important part of this old neighborhood in Mexico City for at least 50 years or more.
Its facilities have that respectful renovation that does not replace or plagiarize the historicity of the property. Its floors are polished but preserve the marks of use that its age implies.
Their prices are within the average and there are several products that are cheaper than convenience stores or transnational commercial chains. Many of its products are a leading brand, although there are also locally manufactured and small business products, so it contributes to the sustainable economy of Mexican companies. It also offers service payments, top-ups and ATM for the pension cards of the elderly.
It is open to the public and it offers discounts to state workers, as well as to its retirees and pensioners.
For several decades the ISSSTE stores were regulators of basic basket prices, there were days when they even lined up to go shopping. Their frequent customers are retirees who have discounts on site, some wholesalers and neighbors in the area.
ISSSTE stores are an economic benefit backed by the Mexican Constitution, they are still price regulators and a source for the Federal Consumer Prosecutor (PROFECO).
