¡Hola somos Celestino, Melinda y el equipo de STF! Bueno, también somos una familia. Nuestros hijos Rohani y Amaya también disfrutan esta vida de surf. Nos conocimos en las olas de Puerto Escondido, hace muchos años. Desde 2010 abrimos nuestra propia escuela de surf y una Surf house compartiéndola con quienes visitan la Punta de Zicatela.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the best time staying and taking lessons at Surf Travel Friends! I took lessons elsewhere in Puerto but this place is by far the best! The instructors were kind and helpful and really wanted you to succeed. As a super beginner, I was very supported and after only a few classes, I felt like I really got the hang of it.
I also stayed in one of the rooms on-site which made the 7AM lessons super easy to do because they drive you from the house to the beach. The accommodation is simple but nice, with an ensuite bathroom, a large bed, a strong ceiling fan, and even an outdoor kitchenette. Wi-Fi can be spotty but there’s a cafe around the corner with the best internet in town so you’ll be fine. Communication throughout my stay was easy and fast.
Can’t recommend this place enough! Excited to come back one day :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took a group lesson and private lessons at Surf Travel Friends, and while I have limited experience with other schools in the area, I would urge for anyone who doesn’t know the currents and waves of PE to surf with a teacher from Surf Travel Friends. The teachers were all very experienced, great listeners and very responsive. The waves in PE tend to get bigger April onwards than what is generally recommended for beginners which is why the extensive safety training was so on-point. Obviously it’s important to do your own research too and ask the right questions. From my own experience, being an experienced swimmer, I found ocean swimming to be a completely different ball game.
The communication is also very professionally managed and the team is responsive. They even gave me great tips for the town in general.

The guys teach in such a chilled way they totally build up your confidence, from absolute novices that had us up cacthing waves from the first day. Highly recommend

It was my 1st time surfing and I knew nothing about it, but ARTURO provided me with all the guidelines and also on-shore drills.
We spent 2h no stressing, but waiting for and enjoying the waves. This particular Saturday morning at Pto Zicatela was calm and quite perfect for baby steps on a surfboard, even managed to catch a few of mine “chingon” wave rides.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent 16 days with all the boys at surf travel friends and a wonderful experience all around! I improved my surfing quite a bit and they made it incredibly easy all around. They cover the boards, rash guards, and travel for any place they take you. All the instructors were experts in the water and made it feasible for any level of surfing. They allowed me a clear growth path and met any expectations you could possibly have. I loved my time there and am excited to come back and grow even further.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent 8 days here at surf travel friends. Nene and the rest of the instructors are so good and really build up your confidence and make you feel safe. I was a total beginner when I started and now feel like a pretty confident (beginner) surfer. They’re such a laugh to be around and only let you do the waves when they’re sure you’ll be safe. Plus they have a really cute bird that loves hanging out. Would love to come back here again.
