Sushi "n" Raw Bar - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Best sushi in town, you should try it! The views are amazing and the concept is super nice.

The sushi was not as fresh as expected, is a bit on the high price but is not up to the price point. The wasabi was somewhat bland and did not even make a palpable sense with a large amount. The rice and condiments are good and there is great hospitality and service. Definitely has room for improvement. Best of luck

Sashimi is fresh and tasty? The most real sushi in playa?☄️

This is quite a bad sushi place to be honest and definitely not what we’d expect from a five star hotel like Hyatt. The salmon and soft shell crabs were fresh but salmon sashimi cut the size of sushi pieces or rolls and we both found several bones in the meat. The spicy tuna roll wasn’t good at all with filling tasting something like cayenne pepper and was a gluey paste with no hint of fresh tuna at all. Wasabi with no taste of real wasabi but rather a texture of flour with water. The service was friendly but wasn’t attentive at all, not once were we asked what we thought about the food. The miso soup was really tasty but at USD 6 for about 1dl (half a cup) totally not worth it, especially considering it’s something that’s usually included even in any upscale sushi restaurant around the globe. We’ve been amazed about everything else at the resort (bartenders in the lounge, housekeeping, poolside service and food) so this was a big disappointment and something definitely needed to be addressed by the resort. If it wasn’t for fresh ingredients it wouldn’t deserve the second star.

Food was okay, at the high end price per person. You go there for the view. Wouldn't recommend if you are hungry ?

Returned to Sushi'n'raw for the sashimi. Salmon was my favorite and it tasted delicious this time as well. The seaweed salad was probably the best in my life. Their wine selection was not very impressive and the service was really dissapointing. I had to clean my own table from water, ask for the bill multiple times, had to ask for an umbrella to go to the washroom on the rain and so on. I felt I was the server. I will think twice when going back, especially the tuna sashimi seemed dry and the roll was not steady.

This place is inside the Hyatt. There are a few tables set up right near the pool area for the bar and the view is quite nice. Definitely don't expect an enclosed dining area though. Food was just okay. The fish seems fresh enough and everything came out in a timely manner. However, it is very overpriced for what you're getting. There are way better sushi places in PDC for the same price.

I've eaten here many times over the years. Always fresh and good quality. The view is spectacular and they make good cocktails. I suggest you try the Flaming rolls, they amazing.
