Swim with Whale sharks Dc Explorer - 77400 Isla Mujeres

We had a fantastic time with DC Explorer! The captain & guides worked so hard to get us all close to a whale shark. We appreciate their kindness and effort to make it a memorable trip! Highly recommend them!

This company has been fantastic to work with, they took the stress out of our travel. We hired DC Explorer for private airport and boat transfer from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, they arranged for our golf cart to be waiting for us at the marina, and then they provided our return shuttle. They were very communicative and made everything easy for us. Even when our plans changed and we needed the van to come earlier they made it happen. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

Had an absolutely fantastic time with DC Explorers. Luis and the Captain were punctual, excited and so professional. We got out first thing in the morning, and were the third boat on the scene which gave us all plenty of time to swim with the whale sharks before all the other companies got on the grounds. I can not compliment Luis or the Captain enough - their energy and excitement was contagious, you can really tell they take their job seriously and love what they do. Luis made us feel so comfortable in the water and was an excellent guide. My only criticism would have to be that we did have to pay for digital pictures after the trip. While the pictures were very, very good, we were sent a link to where we could download and buy them after the trip. After the cost of the trip, plus the $100 US tip we left the crew, I definitely feel like they could have included the pictures. However, it was still a 5/5 star experience, once in a lifetime, and again, I can not compliment Luis and the Captain enough. Definitely a winner.

Great whale shark snorkeling tour with a boat of 10 people total. The captain Javier and first mate Arturo were fantastic on the trip and got us to the whale sharks and in and out of the water to get to see the whale sharks. It is crazy the amount of boats and people at the actual whale sharks and they did a great job getting us into the water to see them. Of course they cannot control where the whale sharks are any given day, but just be aware that it can be a long boat ride, about 1.5 hours each way and it was pretty rough coming back to Cancun. We did well but something to keep in mind if you are planning this trip. Thank you Arturo and Javier for a great day, and they are great chefs too, the guacamole and ceviche at the end of the day was pretty darned good too. Thanks!

We had the best day with Marco, Luis and the Captain! From the booking to the planning, Marco was in contact with us multiple times during our vacation- checking in with conditions and shark sightings. He picked us up from our hotel early as he said it’s best to be the first boat off the dock. Boy, was he right! We beat all the other boats to the sharks and had the sharks mostly to ourselves! The experience is a little bit chaotic- you have to jump off the boat at an exact time and swim as fast as you can to stay with the sharks. Marco and Luis were in the water guiding us every step of the way. From the time we jumped into the water, they were pointing us in the direction of the sharks and directing us on how to best see them and keep up with them. We had 2 adults and a 17,14 and 13 year old in our family. We were all in complete awe. There was another family on our tour who had 2 younger children (maybe 6/7) and the guides helped them so the parents didn’t have to be worried at all about their kids in the open ocean. Some things to note: sunscreen is not allowed as it is harmful to the sharks- even the reef safe sunscreens. So plan accordingly and take sun shirts and hats to protect your skin! Also- the boat ride is about an hour (could be longer or shorter) to the sharks in the open ocean. It is choppy and several people on our boat felt sea sick. Plan to take meds or motion sickness patches BEFORE you get on the boat to help yourself as much as possible! One of the things we really loved is that Marco was taking pictures and videos the whole time so we could be completely present with the sharks and not be worried about trying to capture the moment ourselves. After swimming with the sharks, we went to the most gorgeous beach for sandwiches and ceviche all served on a floating table in the shallow turquoise water. We loved loved loved our day with Marco and would recommend him a million percent!

Jorge and Capitan Noe in Maria del Coral 2 (I think, So sorry I forgot) were AMAZING!!! The company from check in to picture delivery at the end were top notch!! The whole experience with the whale sharks once definitely something that is going to be hard to beat. We bought the picture package and it is worth it! They took great shots! Will be using them for future excursions!

This crew was amazing! Very nice, helpful and fun! Booking is very easy. I chose round trip transportation to/from my resort and they were very prompt… I love that!! Going out to the the feeding grounds is quite a ways, but the guide speaks with each guest on the boat. He makes everyone feel comfortable. I highly recommend everyone to book with DC Explorers. Whale sharks are amazing and I have wanted to do this for a long time and I’m very pleased that I booked with them. Very nice and professional. Amazing snorkeling, the two areas we visited were great. The lighthouse was great inside a preserve with many different fish. Noah, our captain did a great job of getting us in out and letting us enjoy the water. The reef and the under water museum were great. Get the lunch added to your tour, it is worth it. Delicious fish with rice, noodles and salad. We made fish tacos with the tortillas provided. Watch the habanero it is HOT! Fantastic day on Isla Mujeres
