About Tacos Roy
Gracias a la profesora Georgina Ruiz Pérez y su esposo Rogelio Maldonado Bustamante, quienes tuvieron la iniciativa de poner en marcha este negocio. Así es como Tacos Roy inicia como un puesto ambulante en la Iglesia del Patrocinio y algunos otros mercados de la capital. No fue sino hasta el año de 1980 que nos establecimos en el barrio de la Iglesia del Carmen Alto, en la calle de García Vigil, siendo más tarde cuando nos trasladaríamos al local que actualmente es la dirección de nuestra matriz: "Tacos y Retacos Roy" en la calle de Pino Suárez #313, esquina Abasolo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me gustan los tacos de este lugar, bien servidos. Es mi lugar preferido por el sabor de los tacos aquí en xoxo. Hay tacos de costilla enchilada, bistec, maciza res y puerco, al pastor y otras cosas mas. Aguas naturales y refrescos. Cuenta con área de juego para niños. Buen servicio en las mesas y rápidos. Tienen estacionamiento. El único detalle que he tenido es cuando he pedido para llevar 2 de 2 me han dado mal la orden, así que revisen antes de irse.
18/03/2022 hoy vimos muchas cucarachas grande y chiquitas. Creo deberían de poner atención a las instalaciones. O perderán clientes.
I like the tacos at this place, well served. It is my favorite place for the taste of tacos here in xoxo. There are enchilada rib tacos, steak, solid beef and pork, al pastor and other things. Natural waters and soft drinks. It has a play area for children. Good service at the tables and fast. They have parking. The only detail that I have had is when I have ordered 2 of 2 to go, they have given me the wrong order, so check before you leave.
03/18/2022 Today we saw many large and small cockroaches. I think they should pay attention to the facilities. Or they will lose customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Los Tacos Roy han sido tradición en Oaxaca por muchos años, siempre han sido buenos en lo que hacen. Esta sucursal respeta esa forma tradicional aunque no tanto el fondo, pues al ser un lugar amplio la atención es más lenta que en Roy original. Tienen de todo tipo de tacos: maciza de red y puerco, surtida, cabeza, pastor, etc. También tienen su típico pozole y tostadas, etc. La comida es buena, el servicio puede mejorar. Personalmente prefiero ir a cenar que a comer, pues hace menos calor y sobre todo los empleados ya no están durmiendo y ya tienen cambio de a 200. Esto en 2020.
ACTUALIZACIÓN: volví a ir el pasado 30 de septiembre y me llevé una de las peores experiencias pues había una cantidad impresionante de bolsas de basura en el pasillo que da a los baños, lo cual creí que solo daba imagen pero había muchas moscas al interior del restaurante y le cayeron 2 a mi plato y mis tacos. Además mi Burrita estaba toda grasosa y no tenían pago con tarjeta 'por la terminal'. Para rematar, ya no hay promos los martes y jueves de nada. Última vez que voy.
Tacos Roy have been a tradition in Oaxaca for many years, they have always been good at what they do. This branch respects that traditional form, although not so much the background, since being a large place the attention is slower than in the original Roy. They have all kinds of tacos: solid red and pork, assorted, head, shepherd, etc. They also have their typical pozole and tostadas, etc. Food is good, service can improve. Personally I prefer to go to dinner than to eat, because it is less hot and especially the employees are no longer sleeping and they already have a change of 200. This in 2020.
UPDATE: I went back on September 30 and I had one of the worst experiences because there were an impressive amount of garbage bags in the hallway that leads to the bathrooms, which I thought was only an image but there were many flies inside the restaurant and 2 dropped on my plate and my tacos. Also, my Burrita was all greasy and they had no card payment 'for the terminal'. To top it off, there are no promos on Tuesdays and Thursdays for anything. Last time I go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Al llegar vez un lugar como cualquier otro, tiene un area para niños, un poco descuidada, pero funcional, 2 baños, y suficiente espacio para el area de comidas, al llegar tardaron alrededor de 5 min en atendernos, nosotros tomamos la carta al ver que no teniamos atencion, y al atendernos fue un poco lenta, esa es la razon por la que doy 4 estrellas, ya que la espera fue como de 20 a 25 minutos, y solo pedimos 6 tacos y 1 tostada ademas de una karra de agua. Los tacos ahogados son buenos sin embargo no son tan geniales, seria lo mismo que el guacamole fuera por dentro de bañados por fuera, los tacos al vapor muy buenos ademas de ser generosos en cuanto a relleno y tamaño, y la tostada excelente, tomamos un flan napolitano de postre que yo creo fue uno de los mas deliciosos que he probado, a pesar de que no me gusta mucho el flan, buena comida, experiencia agradable, lleva a alguien para platicar mientras esperan porque es larga, atencion un poco deficiente, sin embargo muy buenos tacos.
