I had a material already cut for a beach rope they told me to come back after a week. I went to peak it up and we barely find the bag with the materials, it was as i left it a week ago, untouched.

I walked around looking for a tailor or someone to do clothing alterations in Playa Del Carmen for an hour because I needed some pants hemmed. I went to a different sastre on Google Maps but it wasn't anywhere to be found. So I walked around asking people where I could get clothing alterations and people kept sending me places which didn't make sense. I saw this place on Google Maps business name was listed as "Tailor". So I walked there and breathed a sigh of relief when I saw sewing machines and thread and clothing everywhere, I knew I had found somewhere I could get my chinos and Jean's altered and hemmed. You could probably have shirts fitted and dresses altered as well. The gentleman was very friendly although I don't speak Spanish. I tried the pants on and then he started going to work with scissors right away, I asked him if I should wait for the alterations or return later, he told me to wait. He had two pairs of pants hemmed in like 10 minutes for only $100 pesos. This is why I'm leaving such a long detailed review, I want to make sure other people can find it in case they need this service and I love to help people get more business. So if you're searching for tailor playa del carmen, or Playa del carmen sastre, this is your go to place. Keep in mind, I just got my pants altered/hemmed, if you are looking to get a shirt altered or a suit tailored do your due diligence to make sure they are right for that type of thing.

I needed three shirts altered and measurements for a wedding back in the United States. He did all of the above for me at a really good price. Furthermore, he did a great job. I am so thankful that I found this tailor in Playa del Carmen. Like someone below said, it is very difficult to find a tailor here in PDC. And like they also said, the man who runs the shop is so incredibly nice and patient. I needed a dress repaired and doing a google search this place came up as only "tailor". The older gentleman did a quick and top-notch job of putting a broken elastic back into the waistband at a very good price. He was extremely accommodating and we were able to communicate despite my poor Spanish. I highly recommend this establishment for all your tailoring needs! Muchos gracias!

I'm not sure why they were reticent to take my alterations here. I thought maybe because I am female and Mexican men can be a bit old school. First he told me they couldn't do it for a week, and when I said OK, he kept coming up with excuses. He referred me to a seamstress one block over who is excellent.
