★ ★ ★ ★ ★ David gave us a lengthy tour of the workshop, beginning with his brother, who takes a piece of wood, imagines what figure it contains ( like Michelangelo) and starts in with a machete. Then we went from table to table watching the incredible artistry, as David explained how he and his “masters” train the young people from the village to create these amazing figures. Then he showed us this huge bull he’s working on and demonstrated how he fills in cracks in the wood. Really impressive how much time he took with us. And the finished products are stunning. We will treasure the figures we bought for ourselves and our family.

The work that goes into them from the carving to the natural drying process and the highly precise painting techniques to make these. One of the best Taller in Oaxaca. You understand the price of these when you see the work that goes into it. Hope to order a custom one soon

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must see in the outskirts of Oaxaca. The craftsmanship is unique and worth a visit. Their tours are very informative and done with so much passion. Would love to get one of their pieces and hope to buy myself one in the future. Also, perfect gift for friends and family.
Best get a taxi from Oaxaca that also picks you up as no taxis are available in that area.
Can highly recommend it and hope to be back soon.
