★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Juanita es por mucho una gran artesana , una maestra diría yo. La hemos visitado varias veces y siempre ella y su familia son super amables y atentos, tiene baños limpios para el público. Es muy interesante ver cómo trabajan las mujeres en su taller, vale la pena decir que no son sus empleadas, es un colectivo de mujeres artesanas (super) ha expuesto su obra en Europa y Norte América. Es fácil llegar pues hay letreros pero si preguntas en Amatenango no muchas personas te quieren decir cómo llegar a su taller, creo por envidias entre artesanos , en fin, yendo dirección San Cristóbal- Comitán es en el último tope de la recta que cruza Amatenango ahí das vuelta a la izquierda y dos cuadras después de nuevo a la izquierda, unos cien metros a mano derecha verás su taller perfectamente rotulado, no hay pierde. Artesanía fina para gustos exigentes.

Buscando un Jaguar de doña Juana Gómez Ramírez, llegamos al taller en Amatenango Del Valle y ella misma nos ofreció su tiempo sin prisa, su información sin recelo y su sonrisa franca. Fue todo un lujo. Impresionante el recorrido de una mujer como ella, sin perder su modestia y sin ufanarse de sus obras que son recibidas en muchísimos países del mundo y en muchísimas casas como la nuestra. Entre corazones, colgajos de toda suerte y colorido, esculturas animales de nuestras selvas, bosques y aguas, la mano creativa y artística de la maestra Juana moldea en barro obras preciosas. Un lugar a no dejar de visitar.
