Edher se hizo parte del equipo en febrero del 2020 ávido por aprender todo sobre maíz y cocina mexicana. Su comienzo fue uno de pandemia pero fue precisamente la pandemia la que hizo que Edher acelerara su aprendizaje agarrando las riendas de la cocina en momentos difíciles. Sonriente, comprometido y siempre alerta, Edher rápidamente se convirtió en una pieza clave en Tamales Madre.

It's modern, the presentation is excellent, the service is good.
But I was unimpressed by the tamales. It was my first time eating tamales and I thought they were a bit bland. Maybe I just don't like tamales

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a fantastic place. A small but special selection of tamales. Everything is made with great care and a lot of attention is given to the plating. The place is small, with a minimalist design. Service is great and prices are very reasonable.

This place is perfect. Sit inside so you can get the full experience. We got the mole, the chicken and finally the cacao one for dessert. The cook's girlfriend was there and is an international studies student at university so we talked about US politics. Staff is terrific and the food is amazing. Not sure why there's no lines. I'll just say I got here before it was a thing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty yum. Almost 5 stars. Nice presentation. He didn't ask us to add a tip, sometimes it's on the machine but it wasn't. So I think you need to proactively tell them here. We left some cash on the table, hopefully they got it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great atmosphere, it’s small intimate place with friendly staff. The preparation and most importantly the taste of the tamales were amazing. My favorite tamale was the Pollo y miltomate. The coffee also local from Buna delicious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cool space, you can sit inside and eat at the large table they are also cooking/prepping at or at one of their outdoor tables.
Ordered the huauzontle and pasilla tamale and the cacao for dessert. The former was beautiful with the two colors of corn, but I found both to be on the dry side. The sauces were very interesting and helped to add flavor and moisture. Plating and presentation were on point, similar to the fancy prixe-fixe restaurants.
Service was nice, though my Spanish is very bad so communication was limited. Overall a very pretty spot but would try the other items on the menu next time.
