★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience. Great food. Unbeatable Service. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was the sweetest person you will ever meet. He attended to us every 10 minutes making sure we were good and to ask if we needed anything else. Kept wiping the table as it got wet from our cold drinks. Emmanuel was phenomenal! He made the experience a must try for everyone. The atmosphere was beautiful. Music was great. Very friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I discovered Taverna Akumal on a recent trip to Mexico and I am so glad I did. The food was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was great as were the staff. I ended up coming in three times during my weks stay so I was hooked. I high recommend the Akumal Pizza. The drinks from Sergio the bartender were also excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our favorite restaurant during our stay! Service was phenomenal! Food and drinks were absolutely perfect. Some of the best service we’ve ever had! This is a must go to for dinner if you’re in the area! Bonus, they had live music that perfect, not too loud. Just beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ Don’t skip this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Italian food was a nice break from eating Mexican food for a week! Pizza was good. I was disappointed with the Tagliatelle dish because I was so looking forward to tagliatelle, but it was spaghetti like noodles in shape and tasted like Asian noodles. The staircase entrance and the restaurant itself is extremely dark, it was hard to read the menu! The tables are really packed in and close to each other, so don’t expect an intimate dining experience. No one greeted us entered, we had to flag someone down to address us and even then it took some time for them to seat us, but they were really busy. Nov 2021

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We celebrated New Years here and it was amazing. The food was delicious and it really felt like you were in Italy, the atmosphere is nice and if your feeling like Italian then it's the perfect place. I had recently gotten food poisoning at another location but a day after eating here I was free of illness. It's probably just s coincidence but I'm sure the good music had something to do with it. :))

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taverna Akumal is a warm and inviting restaurant that serves delicious Northern Italian food in Akumal. The service is outstanding... especially from our server Emmanuel, he was excellent! The chef is truly a magician: The Focaccia, Pizza, Pasta and Risotto are some of the best we’ve had. My wife was at this restaurant a few months ago, and she couldn't stop talking about the farm-to-table cooking, authentic Italian flavors, rustic interiors under a giant palapa. All reasons to come back again and again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice atmosphere and wonderful fresh drinks. The menu was a little pricey, but that is to be expected in this area. Definitely worth dining in or take away. There is a cheap nearby parking lot if you are driving.
