El titular del área, Juan Manuel Torres, recalcó que estas acciones benefician al turismo y permiten reactivar el comercio en la zona. El Titular de la Secretaría de Obras Públicas del Municipio de Aguascalientes (SOPMA), Juan Manuel Torres Escalante, dio a conocer los avances de obra en relación al programa “Revalora”, el cual tiene como objetivo conservar y salvaguardar las fincas determinadas por el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) como patrimonio histórico y/o arquitectónico. En este contexto, explicó que se da continuidad a este esquema que el Gobierno de la Alcaldesa de Aguascalientes, Lorena Martínez, lleva a cabo como parte de la estrategia de regeneración y mejora de la imagen del Centro Histórico. “Tenemos tres obras con avance de un 90 por ciento, estas son las fincas ubicadas en la calle Juan de Montoro número 406, 479 y 605, los trabajos que se están realizando en general consisten en retiro y reposición de enjarres en mal estado, retiro de cables sin uso, lavado de fachada a base de agua y jabón, aplicación de sellador vinílico y pintura vinílica, así como de pintura esmalte en herrería, consolidación de elemento de madera en puertas consistentes en raspado, reposición de elementos de madera y manchado de superficies y acabado, limpieza y pintura de letras existentes ,así como limpieza de la obra en general”. Indicó que estos trabajos se realizan con la aplicación del Presupuesto Directo Municipal, que destina para este rubro durante el 2012, recursos del orden de un millón 500 mil pesos, mismos que serán utilizados en la rehabilitación de un total de 12 fachadas del centro de la ciudad. “Estamos trabajando en estas acciones de rehabilitación y restauración, cuidamos aquellos inmuebles que representan nuestra historia y son parte del acervo cultural de las y los aguascalentenses”. Asimismo, Juan Manuel Torres destacó que con estas modificaciones, se apoya las actividades comerciales de esta zona cita-dina, ya que el embellecimiento de dichos edificios favorece al turismo local y foráneo, factores que contribuyen a mejorar el desarrollo económico en la entidad. “Con estas acciones logramos también que quienes nos visitan de otras partes de la República Mexicana e incluso del extranjero proyecten y difundan una buena imagen de Aguascalientes”.
