★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El inmueble fue construido en 1540 aproximadamente, diseñado por el Arq. Claudio de Arcienaga. Inicialmente se usaba como el Corral de Comedia (así llamado hasta antes del actual nombre), caballeriza, porquería, sitio de reuniones municipales, para concursos de poesía y teatro. En 1870 actuó Ángela Peralta, El Ruiseñor Mexicano. En este teatro se llevó a cabo el Festival Mundial de Coros, así como obras de teatro del CADAC y del Festival Internacional de Puebla.
The property was built in 1540 approximately, designed by Arq. Claudio de Arcienaga. Initially it was used as the Corral de Comedia (so-called until before the current name), horse stable, crap, site of municipal meetings, for poetry and theater competitions. In 1870 Ángela Peralta performed, El Ruiseñor Mexicano. In this theater, the World Choir Festival was held, as well as plays by CADAC and the International Festival of Puebla.

El Corral de Comedias es el antecedente del teatro en México, muy pocos existen en nuestro país y en Tecali de Herrera existe uno de ellos; fueron muy populares en el virreinato. Actualmente este teatro lleva el nombre “Gregorio de Gante”. La crónica señala que fue construido alrededor de 1540 -su exterior lo demuestra- por el arquitecto Claudio de Arciniega. Este foro tiene una planta circular de tipo italiano, pisos de madera y techo de tejamanil.
