Historical monument, pride of Huatusco, which recalls the golden age in which this place earned the name of "City of the pianos", given the appreciation for the arts, including music, by its parishioners. The construction of this enclosure was initiated by the mayor of that time, from whom it took its name: a merchant of Spanish origin who liked the performing arts and who, according to some experts, wanted to emulate the theater of his native Vigo, Spain. Something accomplished ... In the first decades of the 20th century, this theater received important musicians, actors and singers of both popular music and opera. Cantinflas performed here repeatedly. One of the most assiduous spectators and at the same time a promoter of the arts, was the illustrious Huatusqueño Ernesto García Cabral. More than 20 years ago it was completely remodeled, in a commendable rescue and restoration effort, with the support of the City Council and a few more who joined the project.
