From my American point of view, Mexican phone service is a rather bizarre affair. It is from that perspective I write this review. Mexicans may find it amusing. Firstly, Mexican phones are surprisingly expensive compared to those in the United Corporations. If your Divided States phone is sold and supported by Telcel, bring it along. It will be catastrophically more expensive if purchased In Mexico. Also, BE SURE YOUR PHONE IS UNLOCKED or it will be "bricked" upon attempting to change providers. Telcel service is offered and billed at 1 gigabyte increments per month. Pesty. I suggest the 499 pesos ($25-$26/month) for the 4 gigabyte plan. A visit to Telcel office means: [1] explain to the information desk your intentions, [2] stand on a line to speak to an associate who will get your phone up and running, then [3] get on another line to pay for the service. Finally, don't forget to go to this office to recharge your service on a monthly basis. No, it cannot be done online. Again, this review was written by a lifelong citizen and resident of the Divided States. While significantly more expensive there, the straightforward service was preferable. I figure I will eventually adjust to the Mexican way.
