About TEMOLA LEATHER
1939
Founded in 1939 in Mexico City, Temola is the oldest tannery in Mexico and in 1960 the original founder Mr. Muller sold Temola to the prominent German tanning group, Freudenberg.
With Freudenberg’s technical expertise and Temola’s well earned commercial reputation, the company consolidated its dominance in the local shoe leather market and expanded to export its leathers to the U.S.
1962 to 1990
Temola under the umbrella of the group Freudenberg was the largest and most important tannery in Mexico.
After the Second World War, Freudenberg diversified its business into synthetic oil seals and non-woven fabrics reducing it’s dependence on leather.
