The Temple of Carmen is one of the most representative churches of our beloved city. It has endless stories. Whether it's outside or inside, it's very beautiful. Worth a tour and to be able to admire it. The main festival is that of the Virgen del Carmen. But I must also mention that it is the starting point and return of the procession of silence, the 2nd most important nationally.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Considered the masterpiece of architect Francisco Eduardo Tresguerras from Celaya, who rebuilt the original chapel from 1802 to 1807. This church is a representation of great architectural purity, showing the neoclassical style of great simplicity, elegance and harmony, both in its exterior and in its exterior. inside .
Most remarkable is its oval-shaped dome that is covered with tiles on the outside. It has eight windows divided by two columns that give luminosity to the interior. It has a tower that has the same height as the dome, which rises on a Romanesque portico. The courtyard of the convent has a quarry fountain in the center.
Inside the temple you can admire the pictorial work of the architect Tresguerras himself. Access to the enclosure below the tower in which Tresguerras made a monumental facade; first we arrive at an oratory in which the faithful are prepared to enter the body of the church, whose entrance is narrowed by two paired columns on each side, in the middle of which are located fake alabaster statues representing prayer and the religion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful cathedral! There are various shops nearby where you can get some great coffee, Mexican food and traditional Mexican candy. It's also only 2 away from the main plaza in the city's center.
