La isla de Jarácuaro fue dedicada por sus primeros pobladores a la diosa Xaratanga (divinidad lunar). Entre sus principales atractivos se encuentran el templo que data del siglo XVI y la capilla de la Natividad.
It is located 18 kilometers from Pátzcuaro. This island is connected to the mainland by a bridge that allows vehicle access. The island of Jarácuaro was dedicated by its first settlers to the goddess Xaratanga (lunar divinity). Among its main attractions are the temple dating from the 16th century and the Chapel of the Nativity.
