One of the most significant temples in the sacred city. This building has a large courtyard surrounded by small rooms with magnificent remains of mural painting. On its walls you can still see some representations of jaguars (hence its name), ceremonial plumes as well as marine elements (snails and shells). These paintings, despite the passage of time, still retain part of their original coloring.

Easily to miss. The mural is on the Avenue of the Dead from the Pyramid of the Sun to the Pyramid of the Moon.

Don't miss these several sites east of Pyramid de la Luna: nicely preserved frescos and intricately carved columns, plus how the commoners lived & stored water. Some structures are above the ground level, others underground (some palatial rooms are so far down that they have a "roof": you keep cool in the afternoon...).

An amazing place. Make sure to read up about the site before you visit. Not all information signs are in English. Wait until you leave to buy souvenirs ( do not walk around with blankets and such in your pack). No water or food sales inside the park.
