Este templo construido en el siglo XVII sobre un basamento, es uno de los primeros edificados ya que al pertenecer al barrio de San Antonio, forma parte de uno de los 4 barrios que fundaron Huamantla. Su santo patrono es San Antonio de Padua, quien vela por los enamorados y ayuda a encontrar objetos perdidos. La plazuela donde se encuentra conserva elementos arquitectónicos y urbanísticos que le dan encanto natural.
