Es Una hermosa joya arquitectónica, inició sus obras en octubre de 1889 siendo obispo de la Diocesis de Queretaro, el excelentísimo y reverendísimo señor Don Rafael S. Camacho y el encargado de esta construcción de este hermoso templo fue Bajo la Gran y Hábil Dirección del Señor Ingeniero Giuseppe Parodi Zunini de nacionalidad Italiana, quien emigró a este país de su natal Génova, y la terminó en octubre de 1944, Es Digno de Hacer mención hacer mención el hecho que todo el dinero de la obra fue reunido por el Ing. Parodi, a través de la solicitud a diferentes donadores,…..el trabajo de construcción lo realizó el Sr. Inocencio Pastrana. siendo el Sr. Cura del Templo Presbitero Don J. Carmen Espino. Este Templo tiene una capacidad para 1000 personas aprox, A esta construcción u obra de arte Dorico, Conocido como la Iglesia de los Cajetes, pues sus torrecillas en formas superpuestas y caprichosas, forman una especie de hornacinas, el cual al ser observadas desde lo mas alto de los cerros que la rodean y por la majestuosidad de sus picachos que parecen guardianes, dan la forma de vasijas volteadas…. Esta obra de arte mencionado, con sus columnas de una belleza de líneas admirables, hacen evocar el paralelismo del esplendoroso arte griego., Antes de la construcción de este templo el Arq. Giuseppe Parodi, construyó otra de igual modelo, en una provincia Argentina, Pais en el cual radicó unos años antes de llegar a México, Cabe mencionar que aquella época fué de gran auge minero en esta Población de Xichú, Gto., que explotaba la Compañía Minera Azarco, S..A., misma que dependía de la American Smelting de U.S.A.
