El templo de San Pedro, de portada barroca y cuya primera reconstrucción se dice que fue en el mismo siglo XVI para, posteriormente, en el siglo XVIII hacerle otra intervención de restauración para dejarlo como lo vemos hoy en día. Aunque no existe mucha evidencia al respecto, se dice que este conjunto de templo y casa cural se construyó bajo los preceptos de los “templos-hospital” tan populares en este maravilloso estado de la República. El frontispicio que se ubica sobre la puerta de acceso del templo, alcanzo a apreciar dos águilas bicéfalas de cantera rosa, así como una concha y el remate por una cruz también de cantera. Su alta y espigada torre es de tres cuerpos y solo en el segundo cuerpo se observan aun las campanas que “llaman” a misa. Sobre el dintel de la puerta de acceso a la sacristía se alcanza a leer la fecha de 10 de diciembre de 1655 y, el interior del templo, de una sola nave, En el altar mayor se contempla un retablo de madera dorada, también de estilo barroco que, al igual que el resto del interior del templo, se encuentra muy deteriorado. A un costado del templo, en lo que en sus tiempos fuera el “hospital” o el curato, hoy en día podemos visitar el “Museo Agrarista”, abierto en febrero de 1974 y único en su tipo en esta zona y que nos habla de la importancia que tuvo Tzurumútaro en las luchas agrarias en el estado y la región. El museo está auspiciado por la Casa de la Cultura de Pátzcuaro y por la Secretaría de Cultura del Estado y se puede visitar de martes a viernes en un horario de 11:00 a 14:00 hrs y de 16:00 a 19:00 hrs y los sábados y domingos únicamente de 11:00 a 14:00 hrs.

The temple of San Pedro, with a Baroque façade and whose first reconstruction is said to have been in the 16th century, and later, in the 18th century, to make another restoration intervention to leave it as we see it today. On the lintel of the access door to the sacristy it is possible to read the date of December 10, 1655 and, inside the temple, with a single nave, In the main altar there is a gilded wooden altarpiece, also in the Baroque style, which, like the rest of the interior of the temple, is in a very deteriorated state. To one side of the temple, in what used to be the "hospital" or parish, today we can visit the "Museo Agrarista", opened in February 1974 and the only one of its kind in this area and which tells us about the importance that Tzurumútaro had in the agrarian struggles in the state and the region. The museum is sponsored by the House of Culture of Pátzcuaro and by the State Secretariat of Culture and can be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays only from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
