About The Grand Mayan Vidanta

It was hot this week, and humid. The water was warm. The facilities and service were nice. The lazy river was down for repair. There were too many flies in the outdoor restaurants. Overall, a good stay though. I'll be back.

The staff here are amazing. Unfortunately not a great score because we're mislead on what we were paying for when booked. The food was sub standard. Out of all the food that we ate there the buffet was by far the best food there. Definitely stay clear the pizza is the worst pizza I've ever had undercooked no taste at all. Also was not informed that the lazy River was not in operation due to resurfacing which I understand and the main pool had so many missing tiles throughout it was cutting people's feet up. But I again I will say that the staff was amazing very friendly very helpful

Never, ever attend a sales presentation. It is not worth the “free” perks they offer. It took me almost a year to find (a very terrible) resolution on their bait-and-switch fraudulent sales practices when I fell for their lies. It’s really too bad because the property is well maintained and the golf course is excellent. But you can’t trust them at all. Updated Review: Just received the hotel's response. Their response focused on people understanding the terms and conditions of attending the presentation. That's smoke and mirrors. Once again. My review was about their FRAUDULANT sales practices which they engaged in as a way to convince us to sign a contract. They committed FRAUD and only because of their FRAUD did we sign a contract. They know what they did; they know my name. I'm hoping to keep someone else from finding themselves victims of FRAUD, too.

The resort is located on an isolated beach about 30 minutes from Puerto Penasco. Occupancy was very low which made everything easy and available. Beautiful view of the Sea of Cortez. We found the drive from San Diego easy and uncomplicated. We crossed the border at Mexicali and GPS provided directions.

Once I got home from our cruise to Mexico, I just had to look this place up. This place literally gave me nightmares afterward! Trapped in a resort, with no way out! Their time share sales group picked up cruise ship passengers from the local market, promising free massages. They also picked up cruise passengers from the tourist information booth at port, promising free use of the pool and beach areas. All for the short inconvenience of an hour long sales presentation on their time share. The "hour long" presentation turned into SIX HOURS! One salesperson after another presents offers to you, each giving you a different price. Each offer gets cheaper down the line, until you are wondering what kind of loco organization this really is. We gave them legitimate, valid, truthful reasons of why we could not and would not be buying their time share, and they still kept us there. Captives, lost in a huge resort, with no way to escape to the taxi cabs without hitching a ride on a golf cart. My friend was feeling very ill, this didn't seem to phase them at all in their quest for our investment cash. It was an epic disaster, and a complete waste of our single day in Puerto Vallarta. I have never been so happy to get into a cab in my whole life and get back to the terminal, free at last!! Told the cab driver he was the best thing that happened to us that day! Several sales people told me that the reason why they were asking me so many questions about why I said no was in order to hone their sales presentation in the future. So I'm returning the favor here and helping potential buyers out with researching their time share purchase at Vidanta -> If you're tempted to buy a time share at this place (bless your heart!), be sure to wait until you've said NO to at LEAST 8 people because that's when you'll get the really good prices. :) Safe travels everyone!

The rooms and amenities are great. Wonderful Spa, gym, indoor pool. Front desk staff too much paperwork to sign in and depart. Time wasted. Sales staff hits you instantly after check-in. No time to breathe and wind down after a long lonesome drive. Signage to the resort and to town is non-existent. Hard to find in the dark of night arrival. Staff is pleasant, but needs better process to complete their jobs. Water views are the best and beach for walking.

Our stay was beautiful! The best place to come and relax and get away! Yes the drive is long but worth it ! Tony and Mauricio were so attentive when we were at the pool in the Cabana All the servers at the restaurants were very nice and room service A1 ! Food was great n fresh all the time and didn't have to wait long at all like in Vegas! The resort has a swim up bar in pool as well the view from the balcony is breath taking !!
