This is a once in a lifetime experience I will be forever grateful to have been a part of. I had been endlessly searching online for some kind of retreat to help me reset and refocus after what's been a horribly difficult year in my life. I found the Green Maya Project and a women's reconnect retreat happening in Mexico this past September 2021. I messaged the owner Sara and she replied immediately to answer all my questions. We set up a zoom call and went through the details of this trip and she made me feel so comfortable. This was my first time taking a solo trip too and during a pandemic so safety was a big concern, she provided all the necessary details and guarantees to help me feel secure in my investment and booking. Saying yes to this opened a new world for me. The other women I met on this trip were also Americans and most had been struggling with difficulties of their own over the last year. It was a small intimate group and everyone made me feel so safe and comfortable. The accommodations at the villa were outstanding and so comfortable. As Sara mentioned, eco tourism doesn't mean having to give up luxury and comfort. This trip was a perfect combination of scheduled group activities and also time to myself which was a great balance. Everything was optional so if I was tired and just wanted to rest and not participate, there was never any judgement or pressure. I am not advanced at yoga and just beginning my journey to better health and there were women of all physical ability levels on this trip so I didn't feel out of place. The adventures we went on were pure magic. Everything on this experience was definitely "off the beaten path" and very local to the community which felt so much more connected and special than a typical touristy destination or hotel. This trip also helped me really explore my spirituality and connect with a power greater than myself and I made a lot of progress in a short time of letting go and healing. It was a good mix of healthy, active things to do but also pure vacation vibes - having cocktails at the pool/ beach and lounging are also an important part of any holiday in my opinion :) I also have to mention it's so nice to show up and have all the details and research done for you with transportation, meals, activities, etc. and its all included and paid for up front which alleviates a lot of stress. It was worth every penny.  If you are a solo female thinking about taking a trip like this, THIS IS THE ONE I AM TELLING YOU! Traveling alone can be scary but Yucatan Mexico is one of the safest areas in the country and I never felt uncomfortable. I didn't know anyone going on this trip when I booked and now I have made friendships for life. This was so much more than a vacation, it was an investment in myself and my soul and it's certainly one of the best decisions I have ever made. Life is short, just book and experience the magic, I promise you won't regret it.

I am still on a magical energy high from this retreat I returned from a week ago. I simply showed up and the rest was taken care of. Our entire adventurous tour was completely laid out before us while also allowing room to stretch space and time or by Sara simply feeling the room and intuitively knew what we needed to happen next. I felt secure, cared for, and deeply connected to everything and everyone I came to contact with. I went with no expectations and experienced the spirit of the cenotes, the importance of the mangroves, and the sweet soul of the bees and their keeper. I am now home and realize I had been living my life in black and white and now, for the first time, I see in technicolor. Do not hesitate for a moment. Book the trip.

My wife and I were trying to figure out what to do for the last two days of our visit to Merida. We knew we wanted to see the pink flamingos, but the tour agency we booked with canceled our trip and left us in the lurch. Thankfully, we were referred to Sara, from The Green Maya Project. Sara knew which guides to use to take us out on the water and get close up to these amazing birds. She also took us to Izamal (The Yellow City), to two Henequen plantations and a great beach in Celestun. We got door-to-door service and had a great experience with well-informed Sara. Being from the States, there was no language barrier with her. Sara was accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to make our experience exceptional. On Sunday, at the end of our tour, she even took extra time to find us a clinic to get the Covid test we needed to leave Mexico. She was a lifesaver, as many places were closed, and our plane took off at 8:00 am on Monday. From the unexpected snacks she brought to her informed knowledge of the area, Sara was the best! We highly recommend her!

Honestly the best trip of my life, everything was taken care of for us. We met, we laughed, we shared, we loved, we ate, we drank, we connected with nature and with each other. The energy and vibe that was created during this reconnection retreat was priceless and continues to resonate with me weeks later. I so look forward to future retreats and programs with Sara. I can not recommend this retreat enough, so worth every moment!
