Many big events take place here. Mostly university, or university adjacent events.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The popular name "the islands" comes from whenever it rained, the whole field would flood and look like a lake, and the higher spots would look like islands floating on the sea. When it's dry of course, it's a great place to hang out, catch your wind, enjoy a nap under the shade of a tree, share meals with people, or play with a ball or your dog. The taco sellers with the bike and basket lined with blue plastic are safe to eat, inexpensive and delicious. Since the place is inside the UNAM complex, it's very safe. Saturdays many people come to play with their dogs.
