★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool place, tiki style drinks, great value in the Asian fusion food, friendly staff.. and on stage a great band in lucha libre masks.. The Surf Monkeys.. adding their own flavour to old hits or more contemporary music. 20 avenida/6 street = much nicer than 5 Avenida.
What's not to like?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our last dinner on our trip to Playa. I literally zoomed out on google maps and closed my eyes and pointed to a spot on the screen and this was what was there. This was the happiest accident I’ve ever made. It’s on a quiet side street, so it was pleasant walking there. The host was wonderful, he explained there was a large party coming in about an hour and because of occupancy limits, he may not be able to seat us. As we were deciding what to do, a table opened up and we were seated. I’m so glad we didn’t miss out on this place. We chose our drinks and the appetizers all sounded so good, we ordered three: bang bang shrimp, the curry chicken rolls and the ahi poke stack. All three were wonderful! Most shrimp we ordered at other places were always overcooked but these were fresh and perfect. There was music playing, but not too loud. It happened to be one of my favorite albums by the Cure from the early 90s and I felt right at home. The decor was fun and kind of kitschy and I loved it. Our server was very attentive and took good care of us. The drinks were the strongest we had the entire week we were there and delicious. I had the “ah caray” and it was the most unique cocktail I’ve ever had. Not sweet like most cocktails, it was actually pleasantly peppery. I liked it so much I had two. We also had the pork belly tacos and they were fresh and delicious too.
As if all of this didn’t make it the most perfect evening already, then a band set up and started playing and made it all even better! They played classic rock, Rolling Stones, CCR and they were really good! It quickly became our best experience of the whole week. I just wish we had found it sooner, because we absolutely would have gone back many times. It’s definitely on our list of favorite places to go next time we’re in Playa. It was also our least expensive dinner of the whole week. Highly recommend this place, and that’s saying a lot because my hubby is a bit of a foodie and he absolutely loved it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found this here on Google an absolutely loved it. Off the main drag so prices are great. But what’s makes this a must return are the food, drinks, and feel. This is a fun eatery and I’d highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Que lastima! The last night before I move on my trip I find this true hidden gem next to my hotel. I try to try different places when I travel, but I certainly would have made this a regular spot. Very chill atmosphere, and fantastic Tiki drink offerings. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the food since I already ate. But the menu looks fantastic. If the quality of the food matches the drinks, I'm in for a treat when I return (and I will). Tried a couple different Tiki drinks, none disappointed. Can't say enough positive about this place. If in the area, and want to try something different than the traditional cerveza/tequila bars (though both avaliable here), I definitely recommend stopping in. You won't regret it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place makes me very happy. I love tiki bars in general and this one is great! The drinks were well conceived and prepared. The Asian-Mexican fusion food was very tasty - loved the tacos. To top it off, they had live surf-rock music which rounded out the totally perfect vibe of the place (Monkey Surf?) Overall, one of the best of PDC.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great hidden gem! The food and cocktails were both excellent (especially the Korean Fried Chicken and the Crispy Beef) and the staff was friendly and attentive. Plus, the atmosphere/decor was so fun and energetic!
We liked it so much we tried to go back one more time for the last day of our trip (last Sunday), but despite their hours of operation indicating they were open on Google, they sadly were not. My only bit of feedback would be to update the hours on Google! We would have tried to come back a different time had we known.
