I was here about two weeks ago on my honeymoon. The hotel is nice in a good location. To begin the minute we checked in our room was not ready so we had to wait for our room a few hours. There was a lady at the lobby that works for the hotel vacation club hounding us about having breakfast the following day to see a presentation. We had booked our honeymoon with Apple vacation so the lady started bad mouthing Apple and the Amstar representative they were the transportation and the company that was in charge of the excursion that we had booked through Apple. I asked for help scheduling our excursion she dial the number and handed the phone to me and told me to follow the prompts she didn't want to be bother. When we didn't show up to the presentation she countinued leaving notes at the door rescheduling for the next day. When we saw her again in the lobby two days later she approached us and pretty much sculled my husband and I for not showing up to the presentation in the middle of the lobby in front of other guest. Very unprofessional. To add the next issue we had was we did the all inclusive and the food was not good. We ate out in town must nights there. Breakfast was good. The hotel has a swim up bar which nobody works at the people working the bar on top make you get out of the pool to get drinks. They would not walk down below to take orders from the people in the pool and they had an attitude about it when you try getting their attention from the pool. Overall we made the best of it.

Brilliant hotel excellent position for everything in playa del carmen ? staff nice and friendly... Just sat here on the beach listening to the waves.... Beautiful place. Maid service fabulous... All areas clean and tidy... We are bed and breakfast which is buffet style and very nice! Pool bar lovely although not much time spent in pool as rained most of week but still warm.

Absolutely beautiful resort!! Rooms were clean and well maintained. There is a ton of seaweed on the beach, which despite their best efforts, continues to accumulate. And it's definitely stinky in the hot sun! The boats are also in your ocean view due to fishing legalities. Food was good. Buffet offers different cultural cuisine each night. Italian restaurant was delicious! Fun activities offered nightly. Close to 5th avenue shops. Staff is helpful. Would recommend staying here.

Visited this place back on 12/20. In the first room we had a couple of issues and we ended up getting another room that definitely made our trip more pleasant. Avoid the first floor rooms that are below the concierge area. Very very noisy. Food was ok...think if it was not for covid maybe it would have been better. The beach is nice..would have been better if fisher boats didn't park so close to the beach. You can't really swim out there without bumping into boats. All in all..we had a pretty good deal for this place so it was worth it.

A terrible experience. The room telephone never worked throughout my stay. In spite of my informing the front desk about this problem on the first day, the phone had still not been repaired by the time I left after the 6th day. They promised to send a technician to fix the problem, but no technician ever arrived. The only way to communicate with reception was to walk downstairs a long way to talk to them. Had there been a health emergency, I don't know what I would have done. Because the room telephone did not work, I could not receive a wake-up call. I was there to speak at a conference, so it was essential that I receive a wake-up call. They brought 2 digital clocks into my room, neither of which worked. No hot water in the shower at any time. The card reader on my front door did not work, and they did not repair it until 2 hours before I left on the last day! They also promised, by a direct phone call before my stay, to have steam-cleaning service 24/7; but when I arrived they told me there was no steam-cleaning service on the weekend. Since I was there to speak at a conference, it was mandatory that my clothes were wrinkle-free. They lied and lied about so many things, and were extremely unprofessional with regards to repairing problems. The beach and water were filled with sea-weed, so it was very unpleasant to swim in the water. Almost no one went into the ocean, rather they chose to go to the pool.

UP: === The staff is great! Geraldo and Edgar are best people attending and Boris is incredible creating activities all the time. We really enjoyed the staff! The food is good in general, but the deserts could be better. They add gelatin to everything and that removes the flavor from the deserts. They are clean. My room, the hotel, silverware, everything very clean. DOWN: ====== - We got two rooms, and they are kind of old fashion, but everything is very clean. They one I stayed (2255) need some fixes as the door is hard to open (scraping the floor), the chest of drawers is not closing correctly and the shower is rusty. - Heads up on your selections, they are very harsh on replacing things, for example my wife bough a hat in the hotel store and didn't check the size (neither the sales person). Came later to change to a best fit and there was not way the replace the hat for the correct size. A second example, we bough gold bracelets for the day and half hour later I decide to give it to my daughter because she was going to use that better than me but they didn't change that. That was final and I would need to buy another one to her if I want. There's some room for improvement in here. - They have a vacation club and offered us a visit promising that would be a good experience, different of any other timeshare club we previously experienced. That's not. The same speech, the same pressure at the end, the same bad faces, the same threats. Do some online research as well about the "leading vacation club" in google before going there. - The information could be better about the things we could use from the hotel. I couldn't find the kayak without searching a lot, for example, but there are plenty or staff trying to sell you massage sessions, dance club tickets and everything you need to pay out of your all inclusive rights. CONCLUSION: ============ It is a good place to stay if you don't get disturbed with the things I just commented about.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Slightly dated but not horribly. I really enjoyed the days by the pool and we both purchased the VIP drink package. It was worth the money. The one extremely bad part of our experience was the food. Very school cafeteria quality and i could not recommend the food at all. Otherwise greatly enjoyed.

Overall I had a wonderful time spent.. I must say in standing out, Carmela and Alan were thee best! They made such an impression on our stay, I would gladly come back only knowing if those two will still be there! The New Years party was fun, the food was good, and the room was clean and comfy! No problems here, great place to visit and stay.. short walk to the city!
