THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner six days a week in a sun-dappled eighteenth century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.

One of the best meals we had in San Miguel. Service was excellent! We knocked down our bottle of wine by accident (our fault) and they gave us a courtesy glass. The scallop crudo and burrata were fantastic, the lamb was also exquisite! Make sure to specify how you want it cooked. The butterscotch pudding for dessert was also delicious. It was a pleasure to have a meal there! The only downside was the base from the club next door which was very loud.

I went on my birthday Sept 5 2021 for brunch. The bottomless mimosas were the best thing about this place. The menu was very boring and uninspired. Nothing special! Not sure why this place is highly rated but it was alright. No terraza either with a view to merit somewhat high prices for Mexico. Very disappointing.

Got to admit, fabulous service, great bottle of Cab Franc, the heirloom tomato starter is going to be very hard to forget! The grilled octopus was fabulous as well. Impressive.

Overpriced but tasty. We ordered one entree per person and a drink and the bill came to over a hundred US dollars. Also they automatically add a 15% tip on the bill. I like the opportunity to tip on my own. Plus I like to leave satisfied after a meal. Here after spending all that money, I had to eat street tacos or else go to bed hungry. While the food tastes good, they could at least give us decent portions.

We’ve had many wonderful dining experiences in SMA but this one is at the top of the list. The service, food, ambience, wine and cocktails… highly highly recommend. The menu was seasonal and it was hard to choose from the variety of options- I wanted everything! We had 3 courses and each one was impressive and very satisfying. Will be back! Edit: came back for brunch and it was also a very delightful and satisfying experience.

Absolutely outstanding on every single level, one of the best dinners I have had in a very long time, anywhere in the world. As my friend and I were dining on dish after dish of perfection, we were musing about how anyone could find this place less than spectacular. Alas, some people just do not enjoy being delighted! Everything was cooked perfectly, every single ingredient was fresh and delicious and the combinations were superb. Favorites: Best beet salad of my life. Seafood ciopino out of this world. Cheese plate with truffle honey to die for. Pecan bourbon bread pudding, don’t even ask just order it.

We went to TR first in 2011, when it was one of perhaps half a dozen high-end restaurants in SMA. It was a highlight of our trip. 10 years later, there are lots more really great dining options, yet TR is still going strong and with the recent renovation, the atmosphere is even better. Although lacking the rooftop seating and sweeping views that we all love about SMA dining, the open-roof, expansive courtyard with its beautiful new “living wall” of plants, is really special. As for food and service - it’s one of the very best all round venues in SMA and if you can go to only one of them - definitely worth considering. The menu options are great and a nice selection of local and international wines. We had 2 appetizers, 2 mains, a dessert and a really nice bottle of Mex white wine. Total tab was MX$2,500. If you are lucky enough to have Beto as your English speaking server, that is an added bonus.
