The Shore - 77720 Playa del Carmen

Great place to stay close but far enough from the tourists mess!

This “hotel” has a lot of potential but their management needs a lot of improvement. The facilities itself are beautiful, the spaces look nice but I think this is a result of a newer building. Like anything in life if you do not take care and maintain something it quickly diminishes in quality. Here’s more about our experience; 1. They SAY they clean your room every other day- but this is not true. We stayed 6 nights at The Shore and our room was only cleaned once. This was after we called several times. It was only until we had no toilet paper, shampoo, and the trash was overflowing that we had to go down to the front desk and DEMAND someone come up. After being promised someone would come in 50 minutes of course, no one came. We finally got our room cleaned the next day which consisted of making the bed and taking out the trash- sand still everywhere. 2. WiFi was barely working if even at all 3. The restaurant onsite was randomly closed the day that we chose to have a pool day and the next day when I tried to order a pizza they said it would take 2 hours... The pool was nice but the cabana had cigarette and drink stains all over it. As I mentioned above places will only stay nice if they are well maintained and managed to which this property is quickly declining. Unfortunately these things impacted our stay/vacation and we do not plan on returning to this property. I hope the management team can turn things around as it’s clear they’re still trying to sell many units and soon these big misses will be noticed by potential buyers.

Beautiful residence, roof top pool and bar, everything is clean. We enjoyed staying at the property.

great location . one block from 5th ave and very short walk to a very nice beach. Building is clean and quiet with great security. . Very nice place for the money.

Very nice place. Very clean. 4 stars because no laundry facility...but there are laundry services nearby that will pick up and deliver.

Lovely apartments, but a very loud jazz bar opposite makes some of the rooms extremely loud for a few hours each evening/night at weekends

Great place to stay if you don’t want the noise from further south on 5th. At CTM and 1st close enough but removed at the same time. Pool is nice, food is ok.

I love this place. It's gorgeous. It's a little bit noisy at times but the management is good. Omar is a good guy. The rooftop is nice and they have improved the food. Overall recommend!
