This is a beautiful hotel and the room was very clean and spacious with a giant sliding glass door leading to a terrace. The hotel had a restaurant with a full breakfast menu and I found the food to be delicious. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel is currently surrounded by construction sites as the area is booming for business. The construction stopped at night but during the day, when we came back to our room to escape the heat, it could be heard very clearly from inside our room.

If you want to stay in Tulum at a place that has terrible WiFi, power outages, NO hot water, no ice machines, and employees that rummage through your luggage..Then this is place for you!!! The 2 stars is for the staff, as they were as friendly and as accommodating as they could be.

I booked a 3 night stay at the Strabon for a solo trip and ultimately decided to cancel my entire trip due to a shooting in the Tulum downtown area that killed two tourists, and injured 3 others. The Strabon would not refund me or even offer a credit for a future stay. I am extremely disappointed with their lack of compassion and understanding and when I do eventually make it to Tulum, I will NOT give any business to them.

I stayed there two nights. It is a nice hotel, the rooms are large, and the beds are comfy. The pool and outdoor space is nice as well. However, the sheets were dirty, had stains on them, and the toilet clogged as well. They do not provide any toiletries other than the body wash that comes out of the soap dispenser. They also charge for check out after 12:00 PM, which most hotels give you until 2:00 PM always if you request. They also do not have any other services, such as dry cleaning, etc. They charged me over $15 to do one load of laundry, more than I pay in NYC, downright ridiculous. Also, as other reviews have said, the road is filled with potholes, its off the beaten path from the rest of the city center as well. The staff can be friendly or mean depending on the day.

I stayed at this place with my boyfriend for 2 nights. We got a nice room with good wifi but there was construction happening and half of the hotel wasn’t in service which was very sketchy. It looked like half of the hotel flooded. Be ware of all this new construction in Tulum. Tulum has a huge plumbing problem in the city and the city isn’t equipped to handle it. The water pressure in the shower was terrible and they also use sea water. This is actually a common problem in Tulum so be ready for it!

I asked several times starting 5 months ago for a higher floor room, what we got is ground level. The day we arrived the room was not cleaned well, the bathroom was dirty and we had black feet walking bare feet in our room. The second day the room didn't see any housekeeping though we had the sign out. As I had to change my booking due to an emergency I was told that one will take care of my change of dates, but I was told this more than 24 hrs, so the refund policy already couldn't make any refund. Everything was done to make more money out of my booking. Last, the place is quite far outside of the center and it takes u 30 min by feet or you take an expensive cab for 300 mxn one way. The pool is the whole day in the shadow, tiny and cold as the arctic sea. There is no chance for a coffee inside the hotel area. To sum up, no recommendation for this place.

Unfortunately I have to give this rating because the service and the conditions of the room was not up to par. Upon arrival (before 3 pm) we were told we couldn’t check in because they were cleaning the room, which is understandable because check in is at 3. The guy at the reception said we could leave our bags but he seemed upset and made some remarks out of line. When we returned to the room we noticed there was a “vomit” smell and 2 big stains on the rug in the main room. Also there was a ringing noise in the main room which kept us from sleeping. We had to sleep in the living room. When we brought it up to the reception desk in the morning (same guy) He made some stupid remarks and laughed at us when we tried to bring up the noise in the room and the smell in the whole condo. At the end the even charged us for a bottle of water from the room. I had never ever ever, not even in Mexico have I been charged for water. I would not recommend staying here. There are plenty of other beautiful hotel/condos to stay in Tulum.

Rooms are really spacious and comfortable. Reasonably clean. But the garden is very small and not what you expect from the photos. Also the streets surrounding the hotel are not paved and can't really adventure with a rented car. You have to go through a maze to get there on paved ground but the parking is still made of sand and rock. Pool is so small is mostly for the decor. Breakfast was decent. Staff was really helpful. They probably expected a tip for their service, which they actually received at the end.
