★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went on vacation with my daughter it was our first time visiting the area, I like the intimate size of the hotel and it was located in a nice central area, plenty of things to do around or just to walk and look. The room was a standard room not much different than any other Hilton hotel, we had a couch and a small table to eat if wanted.
There are 2 restaurants in the hotel and 1 area for breakfast, most of the food activities are on the top floor near the pool area, one restaurants is only open Thursday thru Sunday so we missed out on that and the variety of food is limited if you want to eat more variety you will have to eat out that was a bit disappointing for us, also if you order mix drinks they barely put any liquor in it so order extra shots or beer if not you will be disappointed.
The wait staff wasn't too attentive we sat waiting for long periods of time and it wasn't too busy that was a let down.
Overall considering everything I would still recommend it I expected more but it was still a good value.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was all just OK but not worth the price. I would not stay at this hotel again and I won’t book directly through Hilton again. The service was fine, the room was fine, but the food wasn’t good, and like other people have mentioned, the loud music from the bar on the ground floor carries throughout the hotel late into the night. My room was on the opposite side so the music didn’t keep me up, but if I had been closer, it would have been a struggle. I didn’t enjoy Playa del Carmen - there are lots of other places in Mexico that I prefer that have less of a jam packed tourist vibe. I don’t mind tourists, I am one, but it was too much.
They also charged me for my room twice. I booked through the Hilton website and they charged my card the day before I arrived (which I didn’t notice) and then they charged me at the hotel when I checked in. It was really hard to get anyone on the phone and I never spoke with anyone from the Hilton service that actually charged my card, but the hotel staff in Mexico have been fairly responsive. I’m still waiting for my refund, which I’m confident will come, but it’s just been a hassle and I wish I would have just booked through amex travel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel calls itself All-Inclusive, but the food choices are extremely limited, and they don't change day by day, so you end up eating a very repetitive boring meal. The staff is not particularly friendly except for breakfast. The drinks were absolutely the worse! The only good thing was the room. However, if you want a bit more extensive choice of menu, they will up sell-you a Day Pass to their sister property for $65 per person. At that property, they would bring you food to the pool area ONLY if you paid $200 for a cabana. Rip-off! Oh, I forgot, they never answer the phone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A brilliant, intimate resort hotel to explore Playa and all the area has to offer. We stayed for a week and felt incredibly welcome and looked after by brilliant staff. Fray in particular was so lovely! The rooftop pool is a slice of tranquility amongst the buzzing city. The food options in the hotel are more limited but extremely good quality - surprisingly good quality, fresh ingredients, we loved it! As we stayed for a week we booked the All Inclusive Plus package that includes access to the large adults-only Hilton resort down the road. The resort has a lot of really good restaurants, a buzzing pool and private beach access. Would absolutely return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to four other areas of Mexico for a total of seven trips but this is my first time in Playa Del Carmen. Generally it is best to stay on the resort property but this boutique hotel is located right in the heart of the activity that is Avenida Quinta or Fifth Avenue. The room was spacious and clean, the food was fabulous the people were really warm and friendly and helpful and I must say it was a tremendous value. We upgraded and enjoyed the quiet of this boutique location at night but had access to the resort and it's many fine restaurants, large pool, beautiful clean beach and entertainment. Then we retreated to the quiet of our room to sleep. I highly recommend this place. Just be sure to get a room on the side opposite 5th avenue if noise would negatively impact your sleep.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The people here work hard to give you an excellent stay. We stayed eight days and the food selection was an incredible adventure. Although fifth street Has a lot of party atmosphere you’ll find solitude and rejuvenation in this boutique hotel. Mornings on the rooftop are wonderful with many birds as the sun rises over the ocean. Words simply can’t express the gratitude I feel right now as we get ready to leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was very impressed with this resort! I travel to Playa annually and will definitely return here. Impeccable service from every one I encountered. Loved the 24 hour self service cafe and everything I tried was delicious! Bed and pillows were amazingly soft, loved the shaded terrace. My only minor complaints is that a room facing the street is incredibly loud, needs expanded (or rotating) room service menu, pool would be better with some dedicated shade. 5 star!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just returned from our stay at the Yucatan. It was an absolutely perfect stay. Let's start with what you need to know...this hotel is not a beach front hotel. You must walk about 4 blocks to the Hilton Playa del Carmen and can access the beach from there. We upgraded so that we could use all of the Hilton Playa facilities, so we had access to the beach, pools, restaurants, bars etc. We have stayed at the Hilton Playa several times, but this was our first stay at the Yucatan.
The hotel is small, I'd guess 40 rooms so it is much more quite and intimate than the large resort down the road. Rooms were perfect. The building is fresh, clean and well appointed. The staff was perfect. We would not hesitate to stay again.
Breakfast is downstairs and the food and staff were excellent. Lunch and dinner are served on the roof. Meals were amazing. The quality of the food is top notch. The bar is on the roof as is the pool. Again, this is a much smaller hotel so never a crowd. The rooftop pool area was well appointed and a nice place to hang out.
The price of this hotel was much less than that of the big resort down the road, so we kind of had the best of both worlds at a great price. We had all of the access to the big resort with the intimacy of the smaller hotel at a considerable discount over staying at the big resort. The only downside is the 10 minute walk between the two hotels.
Thank you to the staff of the Yucatan. We had a great vacation and look forward to coming back in November.
