★ ★ ★ ★ ★ LOVE this market! Been four weeks in a row. Be careful not to mix it up with Mercado Lagunilla, that one is a bit rough. Barter as prices go up for ‘Extraños’... bought some really good vintage souvenirs and plenty of material for my artwork.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best place to go ifyou like vintage clothing, second hand items, old and beautiful furniture, beer and street food. It is a whole experience, but be prepared to walk for hours and be surrounded by a lot of people, and I mean A LOT of people. Also, if you are foreign, is better is you go with a mexican friend who can protect you from frauds and being ripped-off. Also, bring cash. But it is really worth it, you will find things you didn't even know you needed. Go on a sunday and better to use the subway or an uber, parking is a little difficult.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must go. Energy at this market can be a little overwhelming so go with the flow once you arrive. Tough to see all the great furniture as a backpacker - would love to take all the MCM off of your hands. Food stalls are incredible - can’t go wrong with any of the options.
Plenty of printed shirts, flashy sneakers, sunglasses, art and antiques. You name it, you can find it - just leave room in your bag!
