★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be prepared to get there early, Thursday is better than Sunday. There are still a ton of people there on Thursdays but Sunday is hell! Parking usually in the available lots cost 30 pesos for all day. That's about $1.50. bathrooms will run anywhere from 3 -5 pesos a person so save your change. You'll find pretty much everything there that one can imagine ?!
Be vigilant of cross traffic when crossing from one part to another, remember the vendors are set up on busy streets throughout the downtown area. Prices are more than reasonable.. please don't haggle over a few pesos these people pour their hearts & souls into their products. Don't be afraid to try new food & drinks. Enjoy yourself ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The tianguis was closed today but tonala was busy. Traffic was heavy and the stores were open with plenty to see. The artesan work in full display everywhere. I had visited tonala in previous years and noticed how much it has changed over the years. I don't know if it is better but I enjoyed watching the artwork and everything it has to offer.
In my opinion the tonala was better when it was much smaller. It is a larger town now but we cannot stop progress.
Overall tonala is still a good place to visit.
