Went to this place based on the review scores to eat. When we finished we asked to pay with a credit card, they said it was broke and insisted on cash even though there are VISA and MC signs all over the front of the building. After the waited realized we weren’t paying in cash he at that point said the machine did work and it would be an additional 10% to us the card. Ok I get an additional fee for using a credit card...we were okay with that, but when we got the receipt slip I checked the pesos to dollars and the waiter decided to add himself an extra $10 to the credit card. When I called him out, that he charged too much, he didn’t hesitate and gave me back the extra $10 in cash. They probably do this to every tourist paying with a credit card...so beware and pay in cash if you have it.

Had a fresh caught lobster on the beach!! It was delicious! The only issue was the vendors, I know everyone has to make a living, but let me eat in peace, please.

10 stars. Jose, Jose, and Luis took very good care of us. Brought us amazing drinks in a timely manner. Food was pretty good too, but pretty Americanized. Some reviews say that the drinks were weak but if you tip them they'll bring you some pretty strong ones, and they'll get stronger as the night goes on. They called a cab for us to make sure we got back to the ship safely. We had alot of fun and walked out very drunk. Ask for the Coco Loco!

Scam. We paid $20 at the taxi stand off of the port for 2 of us to get beach chairs, shower, wifi, kayaks, paddle boards etc. We could have gotten all of that for free had we just shown up. The chairs and umbrellas were great. The beach was good. Lots of pushy vendors but that is typical. What was most frustrating though was when my husband ordered a Virgin strawberry daiquiri which was supposed to be $8 on the menu (outrageous price but he still wanted it) and them they came back with the bill for $10 and he had previously asked about paying with card and they said it would be an additional 10% and the total came to $11 not $8.80 as it should have been. I speak fluent Spanish and contested it, but all he could say was "I am sorry, this is the bill. " Do not recommend to anyone. Will not be back.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, good value for money. TV, A/C, tow beds, private shower and toilet, fairly clean.

I had the best time here Yilda was our waitress she took good care of us girls we had our massage included in our package drinks were good and lunch provided was good. thumbs up to Tipsy Turtle Restaurant for having us.

We took the taxi at the port. Go past the shops until you get outside the port. We bought day pass for $30 a piece. Good service and drinks. All you can drink. The food was extra. Cane was awesome. I am rating this 4 based on the area. It’s a small beach in Costa Maya so don’t expect Aruba. These people were nice food and drinks good. Good luck.

October 2019, traveled with Carnival and instead of paying for an excursion we booked outside.. still cheaper than a carnival priced visit, but be careful. Beach is CROWDED and this location has A LOT of solicitor's, including small children making leaf art and constantly approaching you.. dont forget women offering massages and hair braiding. Cool thing is there is a mini strand like shopping center you can walk to buy goods or look at other beach options, in general area is pretty crowded.. be careful.of taxi drivers, some will try to overcharge you or claim they cant provide change, just walk off and ask another.. suddenly change will appear.
