★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first tlayuda in Oaxaca - never bested - was at Doña Gloria's, Delicious & hot off the grill, complete with (optional) sliced onions & jalepeños. Made and served with love and wreaths of smiles. It's a long walk from where I live now, but always worth the trek.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was truly one of the most beautiful authentic culinary experiences of my life! Lulu made us dinner one night and offered to have us back for homemade mole the next day. She and her family are so gracious and the food was INCREDIBLE! 10/10 would recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to Tlayudas d'Lulú about a dozen times. Crispy and well-seasoned tlayudas served at a small, quiet location right off the street. Lulú is the sweetest and a thoughtful and competent cook! She accommodated my vegetarian friends by preparing the bean paste without asiento (lard). With advanced notice, she welcomed a large group of all of my friends to dine. Her skills go beyond Tlayudas: she even prepared us an incredible farewell meal of mole chichilo with jugo de carambola (starfruit juice). I look forward to returning!!
