★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food and service! We were a company of six and tried several dishes and they were all great. Tried some nice cocktails at the bar next to the sushi restaurant and they were great too. Best experience on Isla Mujeres so far.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tomodachi is wonderful. It's a bit difficult to find, even the taxi driver had to call in for directions. The setting is nice with downstairs & upstairs outdoor seating available. We chose downstairs as there were a lot of steps to get upstairs. No views. The variety is abundant, with a full array of choices & very pleasant service. The waitress kind of steered us to the chef's special platter, so we ordered it. It was humongous. Way too much food for just the two of us. That said, it was delicious. Unbelievable variety, creative & beautifully presented!! We (me) stuffed ourselves. In the future, we'll just order individual items, Hopefully this place makes it, as I would like to return!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been there twice now and both times were shockingly good. Great atmosphere and extremely helpful waitstaff. Order the chef-special oysters if they’re available - spicy but divine. I’ve never opened a quail egg into sushi before and now I wonder why that isn’t in everything!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is probably the best sushi I have ever had. It is authentic and the menu has a lot of Japanese words on it but the waiters are amazing and can help you out. The service was great, the atmosphere is nice and we will definitely come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible quality and dining experience! Traveling the US I've had some of the best sushi and the quality and freshness of this restaurant is right at the top with the best of them. We got a big mix of nigiri: bluefin, scallop, lean tuna, fatty belly tuna, yellowtail, whitefish, cuddlefish and then a special salmon w/ roe and Quail egg. Then one roll with shrimp and crab. It was all incredibly great with fantastic service. If you're new to sushi the workers can help get you a great variety and there's plenty of seating room for groups.
