My bestie and I were recently in Ixtapa for a fantastic holiday with our hubbies and decided to get matching tattoos to commemorate our trip. We asked around and Jose came highly recommended. EXCELLENT TATTOO ARTIST!!! Seriously this guy should have hundreds of five star reviews. I have four tattoos and they are all about 20 some years old. Each one of them was done by a famous tattoo artist in the United States...Pelon is no less than an expert in his field. I was in Zihuatanejo visiting and wanted to have some work done. I took a shot in the dark and thought his work was really beautiful. Little did I know how incredibly good he is. His lines are absolutely fine and he is so incredibly detail oriented. A perfectionist to say the least. He didn’t care what was going on as long as he was getting every single bit that needed to be done. He really spared no expense. I am thrilled with his work and I have to say he’s probably the best tattoo artist that has worked on me. It is a sterile environment and he always shows you this sealed package that he takes your needle out of. He wants to make sure that you know that he’s using sterile equipment. Super above board operation to say the least. He also has a wonderful wife and a beautiful son. They have a lovely harmony together. Thank you Pelon for your professionalism, your artistic expertise and your kindness. If and when I ever return to Zihuatanejo I will surely see you guys again!!! Much love

My girlfriend and I are from Canada and decided to get some tattoos during our stay in Ixtapa. Initially, we were a little hesitant as we have never gotten tattoos outside of Canada, but we assured by a couple locals and employees at our resort that this tattoo shop was a great place to go. We booked 6 days in advance and tried to aim to get our tattoos done at the end of our trip. The receptionist, Mariana, was very polite and took a small deposit to solidify our spots, which we only paid $100 pesos for. We ended up deciding on a sun and moon symbol on each of our forearms, which she quoted us at $40USD, which we were happy to accept. When it came to the tattoo day, Mariana checked us in and Luis, our artist, got straight to sanitizing our station. He really took his time to ensure all of his equipment and tools were sanitized and invited us into our room afterwards. He explained the process as thoroughly as he could, making sure our designs were exactly what we wanted, and made any minor adjustments. Advancing to the actual tattooing process, we were very impressed when he showed us a clean needle and took in out of the packaging with his gloves. Luis was super kind the entire process and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Even with all of our hesitations in the beginning, we were extremely comfortable before, during, and after the whole experience, even with our slight language barriers. To anyone in the Ixtapa area wanting to get a tattoo that’s professional, clean, and has a welcoming facility, I recommend this shop. Thanks again Luis!

The best tattoo shop in the Zihua/Ixtapa area. Pelon is an artist and can design your tattoo or create a design from your artwork. I won't go to any other tattoo artist. Highly recommend.

Pelón is fantastic! I wanted a last minute bat tattoo to add to my travel tattoo collection and he did not disappoint! Extremely steady and light handed. I barely even felt this tattoo. And I can honestly say that my little chubby bat has the most impressive fine lines out of any of my tattoos. The little guy cost $100 usd and he was more than worth it! I highly recommend this shop if your looking to get work done in Ixtapa/Zihua. He also speaks a little english, which is great for us gringos! ??
