Tortas del Carmen - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Wow, what a hidden Gem. Just up from the tourist gauntlet, Tortas del Carmen is amazing. Breakfast was DELICIOUS. Staff are very friendly and patient with my beginner Spanish. Definitely ??. Looking forward to a return meal.

This location has friendly service and delicious food at a great price. We had a variety of food and honestly, it all tasted delicious and authentic. Highly, highly recommend.

Wow! The largest tortas we have ever seen after travelling two months in Mexico!! I’d definitely recommend sharing one between two of you. Try anything with milanesa and you won’t be disappointed. The spicy habanero sauce is great too. Prices range between $95-105 which is a lot for a torta but the portions are massive so it feels worthwhile. Don’t expect great service with a smile: waited 30 minutes for our food one day while others who sat after us were served and another time we were given a jug of juice but no glasses. The taste of the food definitely outweighs this and makes a visit worth it.

We’ve been passing by this place for weeks. It’s one of the few local spots in close proximity to our accommodations that we haven’t tried. It’s been raining a lot and we didn’t want to travel too far so we made a plan to have dinner here. It wasn’t a bad decision at all. When at a place called Tortas, you must try one. I’ve been seeing people eat them and Ive noticed them on menus but never was interested in what I assumed was a sandwich. Chile, was I so wrong. It’s not just a sandwich. It’s so much more and absolutely delicious. The price was right. My son devoured the hamburger which had ham on top. At first he was hesitant and I told him to give it a try. I looked over after devouring half my tortas, I shared the other half with my partner who also had two steak tacos that were good, and that hamburger with the ham was gone. He didn’t care for the bread or the cheese, tomato or lettuce but the burger was seriously good to him. He said he could eat another tomorrow. Sir, who said we were returning. Not that I wouldn’t but we head out soon. I’d back in the area and near this venue, I would definitely stop in again for the Carmen Tortas. I may try another fan favorite like the Cuban. Service was great, efficient and quick. They don’t give you a lot of napkins. I ordered the smoothie with mango and strawberry, grande. It was huge. Glad I only had a half Tortas or I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. Fruit can sometimes be a meal for me. It was good but not great. I’ll probably stick to the natural flavored water or just plain water. This place still gets a huge thumbs up for me for delicious food priced right. I hope you find this review helpful. Delicious and just a few steps away from the main tourist walk 5th Ave. The tortas were pretty big and filling.

This was so disappointing for us, we didn't eat it at all. I tried my taco and it had no flavour at all, everything felt dirty. On a busy road. No cups are given for your flavour water. We won't return!

Very Good and decent prices! all this cost me 200 pesos and it was delicious! I loved the fish tacos!

Everything was good. Coffee was strong, the way I like it. One less star because the seats are not confortable, I would have liked to hang out a little but my butt wouldn't take it.
