Transierra Norte - 68040 Oaxaca de Juárez

4.8/5 based on 8 reviews

Starting from the magical city of Oaxaca, to finish deep into the amazing landscapes of the Sierra Norte of Mexico. The meeting point and packet pick up on October 25th will be at the base hotel where we will load up bikes to the shuttles and head up to the woods into our first descent and give start a 4-day race party!

We had a great time on our tour with Transierra Norte! They have wonderful guides, are well organized, and their communication is excellent. And of course they know the best trails in Oaxaca. I highly recommend Transierra Norte for a guided trip if you're looking for fun, well organized shuttle rides and a great time in Oaxaca!

I participate this year in the TSN. It was mind blowing. The riding was outstanding. The city of Oaxaca during day of the dead was so much fun! I got a bonus day of riding after the race with Annie as our guide. She is super knowledgeable, a very strong rider, and a lot of fun to be around. Her energy and enthusiasm for the trails and riding was wonderful to be around and very contagious! I found the cultural and political history of the area immensely interesting. I'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed the three day riding with TSN, they take you to really cool trails and have great guides showing you the lines and giving you advice. We stayed at their TSN house which has a really good location to know Oaxaca downtown. Helped me fix my bike so I could ride the third day, overall great team, good food and a lot of experiences. I'd definetly be back for more fun.

This is my third time riding with the TSN group and every time it gets better. This time we stayed at the TSN house, the house is well equipped with everything that professional level riders need - from tools, a barbecue, safe storage, hot relaxing vibes, lots of room and very close to the it’s centre. As for the guides - they are pros through and through, our group is a mix of professional riders and we had a tough time sticking to Tannus’ rear wheel, following Alvaro’s party lines and keeping up with Annie’s trail side hucks! For food - we were greeted everyday by Miguel’s delicious fruit bowls that were paired each day to a different, traditional Mexican breakfasts. The ingredients largely came from his farm where he offers cooking classes. Lunches were provided and always at a local restaurant where handmade is the way of life. TSN is unique as they care deeply about the communities they ride in, the reinvest into the trail, communities and local scene and it shows. As for the riding - there’s a reason a bunch of Canadians choose to come down every winter to ride and train, you simply don’t get this raw rugged terrain in the middle of winter. The riding at elevation is great for off season training and the huge descents are physically demanding and a metric ton of fun! Chuy is a master organizer of great times and can help with everything from dinner reservations to souvenirs, so give him a call to get anything custom you desire!!!

Hands down the best mountain biking I’ve ever had. Transierra Norte experience is absolutely a must! Before our trip to oaxaca we did a bit of research for our 6 people group. Theres a few other companies in town but we felt like Transierra Norte was a better match for us because they focus on the riding more than the driving and flashing you with nice dinners. Also their bike lodge in downtown Oaxaca was perfect for the group and chefs Miguel breakfast were the bomb. They also took us riding to their Trails that will be part of their blind race in October, such trails were the highlight of the trip, top to bottom, STEEP, raw, fast, unbelievable trails. Overall if you are a serious rider and want to experience the best riding in Oaxaca, away from the tourist trap trails of the main riding area, go with Transierra Norte. You’re welcome.

Our group of 6 from Colorado and Utah had an amazing experience with Transierra Norte this past month (Nov '21). The TN took care of us at every step along the way, giving us five amazing, challenging and long days of riding. We also did a cultural day of ancient ruins and mezcal that was just as good. Some of the people in our group described it as one of the best trips they've ever been on. We highly recommend using Transierra Norte and booking directly through them for the best possible experience in Oaxaca.
