I feel blessed to have been helped by Iber. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, attentive and passionate about his job. You’re able to communicate with the company by WhatsApp as by the number provided on their website. I booked my tour through booking.com and it stated the tour began at 7:45 but after waking up late, I advised them that we weren’t able to make it at that time And they kindly allowed us to arrive later. They have everything planned in a perfect manner and schedule. Extremely recommend!

This is my second time going on the Mayan backroads bike tour. It is such an amazing experience. I would recommend this for people that are comfortable doing about a 12 mile ride up and down inclines. Not best for beginners, but don’t let that sway you-your guide can get the car if need be. It’s in a beautiful part of the jungle. The Mayan experience is so humbling and eye opening how tribes still live. You also get a canoe, cenote, wildlife sightings and zip lining experience. Our tour guide, Iber was kind and wonderful. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on!! Juan Carlos was the best tour guide who was super attentive, knowledgable, and fun!! I am not the best swimmer and he helped me get over my fears so I could get the full experience of the cenotes and I am super grateful!! Highly recommend if you want a personalized cenote experience as the first seemed more touristy while the others felt more local! Also, the brunch at a local spot in the jungle was amazing!

My husband and I decided to do this tour because we love biking and thought it would be an easy way to see more of Tulum, but it was so much more than that! Our guide, Juan Carlos, was funny, insightful, and taught us so much about local history and culture! This tour is a must if you enjoy biking and culture!

We had the absolute best time on our bike tour to the three different cenotes in Tulum. Niko was the best guide- so friendly, fun, and knowledgeable, and we highly recommend him & these tours for a fun way to experience some of the beauty of Tulum! As if the biking and cenotes weren’t exciting & beautiful enough, the mid-tour brunch in the jungle was also so unique & the food/service were amazing! Would definitely do it again. Thanks, Niko & Tulum bike tours!!

We did 3 tours with them in 2 consecutive days, and they were great. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! And the 3 tours Tulum/Wetland/Back-roards were all exciting, full of adventure, culturally enhancing and a tone of fun. If you are tired from the popular cookie cutter tours then head to Tulum Bike Tours!

One of the BEST Tour Groups I've Ever Used - Once in a Lifetime Experience! My wife and I had been looking at various tour companies and excursions out of the Tulum area whilst on a recent holiday. We happened upon Tulum Bike Tours and after having read many gleaming reviews, and the varied level of bike tours offered, we booked immediately - thus choosing the Mayan Backroads journey. I had initially dropped an email requesting full details of the tour, and was not disappointed by the thoroughness in information and professionalism from staff. Equally I had the pleasure of meeting one of the proprietors, Frank, the day I popped into the shop to make the down payment. Extremely personable and professional! In the end, I was able to get my in-laws to agree to join us on the back-roads trip. We were promptly picked up at our hotel on the beach road and greeted by our guide, "Pluma". HANDS DOWN not only one of the best tour guides I've ever had the pleasure of having, but one of the BEST human beings I've ever met. Pluma was not only passionate about every step of the journey, from his vivid descriptions/stories of the Mayan culture in the drive to the rendezvous point, but had explained that he had built a fundamental personal relationship with some of the local Mayan families, particularly the family our group had the pleasure of being hosted by. The initial trek found us on a back set of roads near Punta Laguna, the entire time there was a support vehicle driving behind us in case anything happened or if any member of the group wished to ride along rather than cycle further. The journey started with us cycling on a winding set of roads (paved and unpaved) to the Mayan family homestead. Once being greeted by one of the leaders of the lovely family, Jose, we were shown around the impressive, fully sustainable homestead, with everything from chickens, to various fruit and vegetable plants, as well as Jose's very own bee farm! The family then provided us with a most excellent breakfast, and we had a chance to ask questions about their lifestyles and the Mayan culture. Frank from Tulum Bike Tour also joined us briefly on our journey which added even more substance to the experience. He had instructed us that they were one of the few organizations in the area who have strengthened the bonds with the local families and that experiences such as the Mayan Backroads would not be possible without this connection. Following the lovely stay with the family, we carried on another path back to the original starting point at Punta Laguna. From there, Pluma invoked the assistance from a local Mayan guide (shout out to Carlos) who guided us into the nearby jungle for a bit of monkey spotting (spotted both Howler and Spider Monkeys). Further into the trek of the lush jungle of Punta Laguna, we had the chance to zip-line across the pristine lake (highly suggest you go with this option). Following each member's survival from the adrenaline rush, we found ourselves canoeing back to the main shore, whereupon we had the opportunity to stick around and swim in the lake. On the way back to Tulum to drop off the group, Pluma regaled us further with more Mayan legends and philosophical thoughts that will stay with me for quite some time - all very insightful. I truly felt like I had experienced so many different things for the single price of admission for the trip, but more importantly at no point in time felt like a tourist/dollar sign for any particular member of the party. I will undoubtedly be making the trek back to Tulum and the first order of business will be to book another tour with this wonderful crew! I highly suggest supporting them and the preserving touches they make to their tours as well as their investment in the local communities and sharing with visitors all the beauty and magic Tulum and the surrounding area has to offer!

What a great experience. We didn’t want to waste time or energy figuring out how to see cenotes by ourselves. Tulum Bike tours came through with the transportation, the bikes, the historical/cultural knowledge and the insider info that allowed us to just enjoy the adventure. All of this at an amazing price point. The groups are small enough to ensure you get personalized attention throughout your trip. We chose the Jungle Bike Adventure but there’s a great menu of options (which we will be back for on future trips).
