We booked The Turquoise Petit Hotel last minute at the airport, on our way to Mexico. Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing renovations during our time there, so some of the items that were advertised were not available (larger pool, bikes, better rooms, etc.). Considering the price, I would say this is not bad. The 5th star that's missing is due to cleanliness. We arrived early morning and the room was not available yet. We had asked to use the restroom and the front desk actually guided us to our room (that the previous guest had just left and was not cleaned), so we got to see what it looked like before they prepared it for the next guest. The pillows and the bed were so dirty without the covers. It had black dots and marks (similar to mold). Luckily, we brought our own pillow cases and dealt with it. Two out of the three lightbulbs in the bedroom and bathroom were out, that was unfortunate. The regular rooms are quite small (included the mini fridge, hangers, towels, and water bottles). Other than that, we had a great time in Tulum. This hotel is located in a great area. Small shops, smoothies and (super yummy) taco places are all walking distance! Plenty of beaches to go to (10-15 drive). I would recommend anyone flying into Cancun to rent a car to Tulum. It is much easier, parking is free pretty much in every area (all street parking) and it will end up costing you less than to get taxis going from place to place. For the price, this is not bad, BUT there are other hotels in the area that are a little bit cheaper, cleaner, and nicer. Do your research well! For a short stay, I would visit Turquoise again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Turquoise for the first half of our trip to Tulum. It is a very trendy and beautiful hotel. We stayed at the king penthouse with the outdoor bath. It was very romantic and private. Everything about this hotel from the lobby, shared space, to our room was beautiful. They provide purified water for you to use. The gentlemen who work the front desk are both attentive and kind. They also respond quickly via whatsapp. They provide breakfast which was good, they make eggs if you ask. The only downside was that bicycles were advertised for guests, however due to permit issues? they were not available for anyone. Also, our toilet would leak sometimes from the pressure of the flusher. Other than that, we enjoyed our time here. It is in a great location.

This could have been a 5 star review if the pillows and mattress weren’t so dirty. Even though the sheets were clean, the pillows felt disgusting. They had mold and other stains. You could even see it through the pillow cover. The mattress was done. It felt like I was laying in a bathtub, because it wasn’t flat anymore. Also, some of the staff members (when we checked in) didn’t speak a single word of English*. They were very kind and helpful though. Despite those things, we had a great stay at Turqouise. The pools are awesome. The rooms are nicely decorated. The hotel property is very green because of the huge tropical plants. It’s pretty spectacular actually. The location in Tulum Pueblo is good. We were able to park our rental car on the street. They also have bikes you can use for free. They are extending the hotel and had a big construction going on (mid September). It didn’t bother us as much as we thought when we saw it first. I hope the management reads this. The hotel has a lot of potential. *If you can watch Netflix, you’ll be able to find some time learning a bit of English with DuoLingo. It’s free.

We just finished up our stay here over the Christmas holiday. The staff was very friendly, caring and went out of their way to help us with everything. Breakfast was included every morning and was delicious and fresh. It is a bit on the outskirts of Tulum, but they have bikes here that are free to use. You can easily get to town in 10 mins on the bike. The area seems to be up and coming, so there are a few cute and good restaurants within walking distance. It is a bit far from the beach, we took a taxi each time which wasn’t a problem for us. We loved the overall vibe of the hotel and would definitely recommend.

Hotel was undergoing major renovations which started at 8am and one evening lasted until 10pm— it was a pretty disruptive and as a result a large part of the hotel is under scaffolding so not as pictured. Wifi only works in the reception area and doesn’t reach the rooms, digital nomads beware. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing but the towels, sheets, pillows were moist from the humidity. It would be wise to have dehumidifiers in the rooms. Our room didn’t have “organic products” as advertised and the bathrobes advertised were only provided on the third night of our stay. Staff was kind but didn’t initiate engagement or interaction. Parking only available on the street and our car was filthy from the construction (though I should point out that when we addressed the fact that there was dried cement stuck to our car one gentleman at the reception kindly offered to wash our car himself which was an overly kind gesture). Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

This is an honest review. Please aware of the situation. We booked the king room with private pool room. We stayed at the hotel 6 nights. There is a huge construction in the hotel, therefore, you will not see and enjoy half of the hotel. We were woken up by construction by 6:45 AM each day. The construction ended around 7 PM, sometimes later at night. We tried to enjoy our OWN private pool, all of the construction workers were staring at us. If you want to use the general pool, same thing would happen there too. Once the construction starts, it is very dusty and noisy. You wouldn't enjoy your breakfast nor next to pool. We parked our rental car out in front of the hotel. Our car got dusty each day because of construction even though I washed the day daily. The hotel promises each guest to have their own bike. Not true. They have very limited bikes. Those bikes are very beat up and some of them are very dangerous to ride. I am speaking from my own experience. Hotel is not near anything. It would take you 15-20 minutes to get to Tulum center with bike. It would take you 45 minutes to an hour to go to Tulum beach with bike. The only good thing about this hotel is front desk man, Jesus and your AC in your room. That is it. I have requested a refund from Expedia due to misrepresentation of the hotel, including the hotel not proving so many things and bait & switch. I will provide an update if i have received any refunds from Expedia which they communicate directly with the hotel. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

Scammers. Avoid this place. My girlfriend and I stayed for 4 days in October in the Suite with the tub. While the stay itself was pleasant, there were two major issues with our stay: 1) we were massively over-charged when we arrived. We had booked the hotel online through their website to avoid Airbnb, but when it came to check out through the website, the price we were charged was over $300 more than the price we had been shown on the website. When we raised this issue with the General Manager of the hotel, she agreed that there had been a mistake through the online booking service and ensured us that we would be payed back. After months of trying to arrange payment and the new General Manager Jesus acknowledging that our reimbursement “was a fact” - we have still not been reimbursed. At this point, we are doubtful that they ever intended to reimburse us, and feel entirely scammed. Both the hotel and the management did not help us …! Also, … 2) the hotel was under major renovations which were loud and not very visually appealing. Nothing was offered to us, and we were not made aware of them prior to arrival. We are extremely disappointed with our experience and will never recommend to anyone.
