★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small place in the heart of Polanco serving the excellent Mayan dish specialty of Cochinita Pibil (pulled pork with achiote) and panuchos (corn tortillas filled with beans). Take away is possible.
I guess Tuux Kabin means “where are you going?” In Maya. I hope the owner will confirm.

This hole in the wall place is a type of place that I really love to visit. A place that does something very well and is sought out for this item. In this place it's tacos made with cochinita Pibil.
I had 3 tacos and while the sauce was tasty, the meat was not that great and it was over seasoned. While maybe lots of local workers come to eat there, I believe that it's because it's affordable and not necessarily, a great taco at a great price.
I was the only person in the place, which is almost never a good sign.
I think that other places in the neighborhood provide better tacos at similar prices.
Will I return there? Nope.
Should you visit this place? Nope - there are much better places in the neighborhood for good tacos. Move along.
