★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are looking for an authentic friendly Mayan place to stay this is it. The cabanas are very clean, Charming, and the staff is attentive and very very helpful. This is absolutely the best place to stay in Ek Balam and surrounding area. You can rent bikes, hang a hammock, have a bonfire, and get to know local people. The best part is that the cabañas Unajil is a local cooperative, so that when you stay here you are benefitting the village, not some foreigner who bought up land in the village. The locals all share in the work and the profits of Unajil. I recommend it 100%!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think the pin on the map might be incorrect, there is a similarly named place slightly to the west with cabins to rent. If I recall, it was 600 pesos/$30 for a a night stay in 2018. A truly secluded place among the natives. I must have been there during a special night because I heard chanting and drumming coming from the forest towards the village.
