Holy smokes! Where to even begin. Rolien and her crew (Hector and Antonio) were fantabulous. Our group rented the entire boat for the whale shark experience and boy did they make us feel like royalty. Delicious and freshly prepared food was provided at all the right times, drinks flowed freely, and Rolien captured every moment on video/camera, so we could all enjoy the experience without worrying about preserving the memories. Swimming with whale sharks is a highlight of my 26 years and Underwater Mexico was a huge part of that. Rolien prepped us all for the journey out and how to interact with the beautiful creatures safely and with minimal disturbance to them. Gosh, what a rush it was to swim right alongside so many of these majestic and gentle beasts - 10 out of 10 would recommend. Go see it for yourself!

In the summer of 2021 I dived with Underwater Mexico for the first time in my life. Rolien & Antonio are both very good in what they do and made the experience very educational and enjoyable. I felt completely safe inside and outside the water at all times. It's also very good to see that Rolien & Antonio both respect the coral, whale sharks and other underwater life by minimising contact and maintaining distance. The Open Water Dive Course and the Whale Shark Experience were definitely the highlights of my trip to Mexico. I highly recommend everybody to dive and/or snorkel with Underwater Mexico if you're in Mexico!

Amazing once in a lifetime experience! It's magical to swim with these animals and I couldn't imagine nicer tour guides than Rolien & Antonio. They're super friendly and enthusiastic and you really feel the love they have for these animals. Definitely recommend!!

I highly recommend any activity with Antonio and Rolien!! They are absolutely the most professional, animal loving / conservation focused dive team there is in Playa Del Carmen. I have dived with many other dive schools here over the past few years, and now I will never go back to anyone else but them - they honestly go above and beyond in so many ways, it is incredible and so refreshing to experience as a diver. I have completed an amazing whale shark dive with them together (this was one of the best experiences of my life!!), and also an advanced scuba course with Antonio - he is truly a dive pro, and taught me to control and master my breath and diving skills in ways that I have never been taught in over 15 years of diving all over the world. These guys truly know their stuff, and care about the environment and the ocean animals more than anyone I have ever dived with. These guys are local legends, if you are looking to dive - do yourself a favour and reach out to them, it will be the best decision you have ever made I promise <3 Thank you to Antonio and Rolien for making my world everytime we enter the water, the best team ever!

First things first: we had the most amazing experience with Underwater Mexico and I would recommend Antonio and Rolien to anyone. They truly love the ocean and if you don't, they will make you fall in love with it. More than three years ago we did a dive course with Antonio. We enjoyed it a lot so when we came back to Mexico, we booked some fundives with Underwater Mexico. Enjoyed it a lot, especially the drift dives at Cozumel where we saw a few turtels and even our first nurse shark. Truly amazing. A couple of days later, we went on a whaleshark encounter. And it was full moon! The weather was great en more sharkies than you could imagine around. This was an experience of a lifetime. We did another tour a couple of days later with a different company and the one with Underwater Mexico was so much nicer. Okay, the weather was much better with them, but also the entire experience was more fun. We were able to get into the water four times, with the other company only once. And when most of the boats return to Isla Mujeres, we stayed a bit longer with Underwater Mexico. At a certain point, there were only three boats remaining and a lot of whalesharks around! Amazing. On the way back to Isla Mujeres we were accompanied by a few dolphins that kept swimming and jumping around the boat. With Antonio hanging on the frontside of the boat he made some amazing video's for us. At Isla Mujeres we enjoyed a swim and a lunch (ceviche and guacamole, great!) and after that one we went back to Cancun. Truly an amazing experience that we would recommend to anyone. There are al lot of different tour operators offering whaleshark encounters and we tried two of them: the experience with Underwater Mexico was the best. They may not be the cheapest, but you really get something in return. And things like photos and videos are included, while at the different company we had to pay 40 dollars (which we didn't do because of that) to get some photos and videos. So in the end, they may be even cheaper! But anyway: it is worth te money bigtime. Muchas gracias Antonio y Rolien. Nos vemos!

My family booked a private Whale Shark excursion guided by Rolin and her team. They picked us up in a van, we were a party of 7 adults and 1 three year old. Roli fed us a delicious breakfast (breakfast sandwiches, fruit, yogurt and juice)on the van ride and educated us not only about Whale Sharks but on Sharks in general. Before getting on the boat you have a chance at a bathroom break in the parking lot. The weather was great and the sea was pretty calm the day we went out. So the 40ish minute boat ride out was a breeze. I had no idea what to expect. But I will say it was one of the most incredible experiences. Everyone had multiple chances to jump in and snorkel with the Sharks, including my 61 year old mother and my 3yr old godson. After thinking life couldn’t get much better, Roli’s team anchored us on the beach of Isla Mujeres where we could swim and celebrate the amazing day we just had. They broke out the beers, champagne and tequila. They fed us ceviche, guacamole and fruit on floating tables. It was glorious! My whole family raved about this trip for the rest of the week. To top it all off, the crew took amazing video and photos of our excursion and emailed them all to us. Some of the video footage was Amazing! This whole trip is a MUST! Especially with Roli and her team! Thank you Roli for such a memorable day for my family.

We have done the padi course with Antonio and it was great, he is a real dive master! He takes time for explanations and the sometimes challenging practices and is always full of energy. The contact with Rolien in arranging the course and during the course was perfect (en in het Nederlands best handig?). We also had a lovely dive at Isla Mujeres (clear water, nice reef and lots of beautiful fish) so we can recommend to combine this with the course at playa.
