About University Museum of Contemporary Art
El MUAC, el 26 de noviembre de 2018, cumplió 10 años de ser un referente de la cultura visual nacional e internacional. Su imagen renovada y dinámica cristaliza su vitalidad acorde con el espíritu actual y de vanguardia de un espacio universitario. Desde su apertura ha recibido a más de 5 millones de visitantes.
Sus salas han albergado alrededor de 150 exposiciones con artistas de la talla de Cildo Meireles, Cai Guo-Qiang, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Vicente Rojo, Yves Klein, Anish Kapoor y Carlos Amorales, en estrecha colaboración con la Tate Modern, Londres, el Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), Museum of Modern Art de Nueva York (MoMA), The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston [MFAH], lo que sitúa al MUAC dentro del circuito de las mejores instituciones y museos a nivel global.
Su colección pública y razonada, única en el panorama de museos públicos mexicanos, forma parte del Patrimonio Universitario, es pionera en la preservación de la memoria al revitalizar el coleccionismo en México. Actualmente cuenta con 1800 obras, de más de 300 artistas y 40 fondos documentales.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for Zaha Hadid temporary exposition. Loved the space, the big rooms and the entire area. Ideal for spending a few hours with family and even kids. There is a section for coloring and activities dedicated to them. The entrance to the museum is cash only.
There is even a buffet restaurant if you get hungry.
Easy to get there with the car, parking is nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Incredibly inspiring cultural center offered more than I imagined. Knowledgeable staff. Totally affordable. I was in awe throughout the Aei Wei Wei, Jan Hendrix & Melanie Smith show. I could stay there all day and never be bored. I can’t wait to go back. Exciting gift store.

Nice building. Ok collection but but but... I guess the university does not want people to go on weekend.
Here is the very frustating experience: If It is quite easy to go the place, it is almost impossible to get out of the university property on weekends ! All exit are closed except one. Yours to find out which one as they are no sign... I guess the UNAM does not care for its visitors. What a shame.
Same comments for the statu park next to the museum... Closed on weekends. UMAN is not keen at sharing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful museum that feels like it’s in a completely different place than Mexico City. Nice university campus to walk around after visiting the exhibits! Even with a few exhibits closed/still in preparation while I visited, it was a good experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is like a maze and I really liked that about it. Its ver modern and has all types of contemporary art and exhibits for a great price. Its not very accessible as its far from the city center, but its very worth it if you are nearby.
