Great experience meeting one of the owns, having an impromptu tour, guided by him and seeing the incredible artwork the workers are able to produce

Awesome to see the process that goes into making these pieces. Any piece you buy comes with a certificate of authenticity.

It is a beautiful space with lots of ceramic tiles and pots on display. I felt that as a shop it was a little lacking in stock. There isn’t really that much to buy. We were hoping to pick up some souvenirs but everything is VERY expensive, nothing really for the casual holiday shopper. And then there is not really enough diversity in the $6000mxn pieces.

Great tour of the factory. All steps are shown of the manufacturing process. You stand right next to the artisans. Guide speaks Spanish and English. The shop is free and has very high quality Talavera porcelain of all manner and description. Not too far a walk from the Zocalo.

Customer service at its worst! The girl with long black hair in her twenties definitely does not belong there. I was planning on buying several gifts for my family in the US, but the girl’s demeanor was unfit for a positive customer experience. The shop has some of the most high-quality Talavera you could find at prices that are indicative of their product’s reputation. But I would suggest the owner get rid of her as it may be affecting sales from prospective buyers like myself. I confronted her about her attitude and told her, “Vengo otro día cuando no tengas esa actitud.” But I definitely will be abstaining from that shop. I honestly got better treatment at the smaller Talavera shops by El Parian than at Uriarte. Oh, what a shame!

Absolutely loved these place. The house itself it’s beautiful and has been carefully preserved. The store offers tradicional Talavera design as well as modern takes from local artists. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. A must visit when visiting Puebla!!

We bought a beautiful Talavera platter at this shop last week; we liked the building and their inventory. However, some display rooms were half lit. We took a picture of two of the platters we liked the best and we picked one. Bought it, they wrapped it very well. Brought it to America, and when we unwrapped it, with plenty of light in the room, we realized that it had a defect of workmanship. It was small, but now noticeable. We got in touch with the lady who sold it to us to let her know the issue we were having; we emailed her the picture we initially took and that defect shows in it, therefore she couldn’t say we caused that defect. She said that she could exchange it at our expense and that we could use it without concern, however it does look like it a chip as it doesn't have any gloss or color. She knew that we were from out of town and that shipping this platter back to Mexico would be expensive. We asked if instead we could get some sort of discount and we haven’t heard from her since. It’s a shame as it is a very old shop with good reputation. But we paid full price for this item and since they’re certified they’re overpriced. Which makes me wonder why, if they’re certified, they sell Talavera with those kinds of defects. I would assume that they adhere to a high level of quality. But not really. So please be careful and check, and double check the items you buy from them with plenty of light as they do not sell cheap.
