I got OK help, but was taking aback by the folks attitude and curtness. As well as the the cosolate missed our appointment and was late 1 1/2 hour and soon after she was able to see me was a little after 1235pm and she was testy that it was after 1230 and they close at 1230. Gees. SHE started to informed me that the proper way was to make an appointment I then informed her that I had an appointment at 10AM and that she missed it and that I was there at 8am.

Paradise Plaza location not even in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, city location in nearby state has two names, Nuevo Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas.

We needed a document notorized to close on our house in the US. We came here 2 times. The first time, on Monday March 18th - found the office to be closed even though there was no mention of this closure on their website. On the door there was a note listing all services available during March 11 to 19. Notary services was SPECIFICALLY LISTED as being AVAILABLE during this time frame. We returned on Tuesday March 19 and we told that the the notary was "out this week" and to return next Monday. This office is too lazy to bother updating important information. If you have any alternative, go someplace else. We now have to drive to Mazatlan because it's too late to get an appointment in Guadalajara to get the document completed in time.

I'm From Los Angeles Ca My cousin lost his passport the same day he got to Puerto Vallarta but this place is incredible don't panic just take your state issue ID they will help you get it in 2 days but it cost a $140 US and also they will ship the passport to a FedEx is PV so you will have to travel to that place.

Amazing service! Thanks a lot US Consular in Nuevo Vallarta! We’ve renewed expired kids passports in 1 day. Brought documents in the morning and received passports in FedEx Centro Puerto Vallarta at 2pm next day. Passport photos can be done at book store next door. New emergency passports are valid for 1 year (but they can be renewed for free for full validity passports).

Excellent service. We did not experience any issues when we got there to get a notary. Same day appointments available. Just call them in the morning and let the security guard know when you arrive and they’ll double check. I want to remind people that these are government workers, not your friends, so don’t feel so sensitive and offended that they weren’t nice. In our experience, they did their job with professionalism, they’re there to do their job, not make jokes or serve you food, as it should be for a government agent.

I had my passport stolen and so thankful there was a United States consulate in Puerto Vallarta which could get me my emergency passport 24 hours after I applied for it. The person I talked to on the phone was helpful and told me what I needed to do, with the exception of him NOT saying that one of the forms needed to be filled out online and printed out. When I got there I discovered that fact and I had only handwritten it so I had to pay the ripoff price (450 pesos for 5-10 minutes of typing) at the 3rd party office outside the consulate to have that done. They charge $200 pesos for your photos there. Another tip is to have exact change when you go the next day to the FedEx office to pick up your passport. It's some weird setup where there's a different courier that's not exactly tied to the normal FedEx office and so he only has whatever change he might have in his pocket which in my case was not much. The guys I talked to when I was there were friendly and helpful and actually seemed concerned about what had happened to me so nice to know that government bureaucrats are also human too. Overall the process of replacing my passport went smoother than I expected once I got all the way up to Nuevo Vallarta, which you can do on the bus for 23 pesos from El Centro in Puerto Vallarta.

Able to do an Emergency/Temporary USA passport for a friend who lost his passport. Bring ALL required documents (print form) to office. They can do Passport photos ($500MXT) at the same office. I recommend getting there early. They opened at 8:30, and there was a line. Once you have all physical documents, The office uses a FedEx system to send your docs to the consulate and sends the temporary passport back within 24-48hrs.
