Took a 1 day Two hours & Half Round trip by $250.00 MX Pesos Colectivo's taxi. Departed from Playa Del Carmen & arrived 2Main Cathedral's plaza. Lovely, Charming, Clean, Proud Valladolid city welcomes everyone to sit, eat a "Paleta de Arroz" (icecle made w sweet rice) and enjoy the main Plaza. You would listen to birds and or if Ur lucky!! delight to the traditional Folklore dances displayed by new & knowledgeable Valladolid's dancers. It's main Cathedral & churches (La Calendalaria, Sta. Lucia, San Bernardino di Siena convent & other historical sites date from the 1540's to 1700's. Important Maya & Virreinato de Nueva España (New Spain) fights took place here. Such as the 50 years war between The Mayas and Guatemala too. The lovely colored houses along the Street of Los Frailes makes a peaceful stroll worth while. At the Architectural's Renaissance Arched Mercado, you would enjoy a delicious "Sopa de Lima", sambutes & sweet semitas. The view at night is "dreamy". During the day sun is hot & dry..but during the night there's a nice pleasant breeze. Hotels host inside "secret" large wonderful patios typical of great Square Hacienda's style with internal views of luscious gardens within middle square fountains.

Good place to visit but only for 2-3 hours. See here local culture and beautiful park. Neat and clean place
