Good bus company, luxury buses, they give you a lunch before boarding

This is a review for the particular Vallarta Plus terminal near the Puerto Vallarta airport. I made my trip reservation online, directly on the Vallarta Plus website. When I read the terms and conditions, I noticed that the fare would be charged in US dollars because my credit card was issued outside Mexico. Few people read the terms and conditions before ticking off the "I Agree" checkbox, and I would encourage them to do it more often. At any rate, this trick means losing money on the exchange rate TWICE (once, when the credit card exchanges pesos to USD, then again on the Vallarta Plus exchange from pesos to USD). Note also that this is an undisclosed exchange rate by Vallarta Plus. So instead I opted for paying in cash at an OXXO, which I did, and got a receipt with which I presented myself at the Vallarta Plus terminal near PVR. The woman manning the desk took no less than 30 minutes to issue me a ticket!!! It's a good thing I showed up early for my bus ride. She stared at the screen for a long time, then she called someone on the phone, stared at the screen some more. Then finally took full copies of my passport (for a bus ride?!), she made me fill in a thorough form and sign it (although my info was already available from the online reservation), and compared my signature with the one on the passport. Again, why??? The fare was paid in pesos, CASH, and all info was already entered online on the Vallarta Plus website. Unnecessary fuss, and a total waste of time! Fortunately, it was so early (6:45AM) that no other customers were waiting, and I didn't miss my bus. Anyway, the bus left 20 min late because the driver leisurely drank his cafe and chatted with his amigos, and took 5 hrs to Guadalajara vs the scheduled 4 hrs for no reason at all, i.e. no traffic. The driver was on the phone a good deal of the time talking about a driver salary in the US, from what I could gather. The buses are comfortable and clean, and the price, by US standards, are very low. The return trip was better: the woman at the Guadalajara Zapopan terminal only took a minute to exchange my open ticket for an actual seat, and the trip took only 4.5 hrs.

Not good service We were made late as they stopped for over half an hour at some place near Guadalajara The driver said 10 minutes which turned into over 30 minutes and I was late for an important meeting Not good

Great service, comfortable seats and safe trips! Best transportation company from Zapopan to Vallarta and back !
