Just returned from a very relaxing week at the Grand Mayan. Thumbs up to the activities staff for keeping the kids entertained (and also to Salvador for the fun Black Jack tournament for adults!). The large pool overlooking the beach was my favorite spot. The main pool could use a facelift, as we found many loose or missing tiles. But the lifeguard Emilio was diligent and always highly visible and quick to inquire if umbrellas were needed or needed to be moved etc. throughout the day. The pool waiters were also at the ready to bring drinks or food as we relaxed near the pool. It would be nice if the restaurants accepted American money though. The room had some issues with mold (on the backside of the curtains and in the bathroom), but otherwise were well equipped and quiet. My review would not be complete though without a shout-out and big kudos to Roberto, the quintessential gentleman who served as our driver/tour guide. Having connected with him in advance, he familiarized himself with our pictures on Facebook so that he easily spotted us at the airport and greeted us by name. Ready with a cooler filled with water, beer or tequila, Roberto escorted us to the grocery store to stock up on necessary provisions for the week. He was helpful in directing us to where to find the items we were looking for, and suggested specific varieties of things that were not familiar. Later in the week, we arranged for Roberto to take us out for a little tour. He was more than accommodating and willing to customize a tour that took into account the makeup of our group (2 women and 4 children ranging in age from 10 to 14). His knowledge of local history was incredible and he made the day interesting and enjoyable for all. He not only made the dinner reservations for us, but he served as a translator to ensure that the waiters understood our dining requests. His perfect command of the English language was truly an asset. By the time we left, the children were calling him Uncle Roberto! Do yourself a favor and make sure you connect with him while you are visiting beautiful Acapulco!!

Big mold problem in our room at this resort. Our beds and pillows were filled with mold and I had to see a doctor as soon as I returned home from vacation. The facilities and beach are beautiful, but the service was very poor at check in and at the restaurants on site. Staff seemed much more focused on upselling and trying to sell us a timeshare than on providing the great service we had already paid for. We will be going elsewhere for vacation in the future.

Nice place, but go there during the week, the week ends are crowded and noisey. Everything has a charge, water, coffee etc. so b aware. There are a few things beginning to show wear and that need to be addressed but overall the room was very nice and housekeeping is outstanding. The beach is not a swimming beach, ocean current very strong and saw several people being rescued out of the water. Small pool on patio had issues with losing water, but within hours ea time was taken care of. Time share presentation is long and a pretty hard sell, b aware.

Amazing and worth the money to go here for a honeymoon or wedding. It's absolutely gorgeous. The beach is clean and the pools are well kept. Also during COVID-19, there were so many precautions taken. Every person that enters must have their temperature scanned every time, and there are sanitizing stations for hands and shoes/feet everywhere. Masks are required unless you are in the pool.

+ Nice rooms and surroundings, quick access to the beach. - Very aggressive sales team, really, really unpleasant. They charge everything extra and it took us 2 days to get the bracelets (and services) we paid for. Altogether we had a good time, but a lot of details were lacking.

Nice place overall. Still need to use qr codes to get menus for restuarants. We have been here 3 times over the last few years and aways seem like some remodeling is taking place.

Excellent place to stay the whole week. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Gardens and some wild life within them are perfect examples that nature can be used in favor instead of being replaced. Pools are very spacious as well, though they get a bit crowded in the peak season. It also has a big beach property, but locals offering massages and other services are always between the hotel's beach and the sea. The spa is not big but you can usually enjoy it due to the limited capacity; it offers sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and professional massages. Restaurants inside are excellent, have a wide variety of dishes between them depending on which you visit. There are some special events in Christmas and New Year's Eve, with extra cost. The overall experience is something I would highly recommend if you can afford it, have in mind that if you're from Mexico it might seem quite expensive, specially if you don't have the membership.
