This place truly is a gem. But if the rest of this review won't persuade you, check out the 38 (at the time of writing this) reviews on Trip Advisor all giving it 5 out of 5 stars. It has a gorgeous infinity pool, a stone's throw from the sea, a quiet beach, free use of sea kayaks and paddle boards, clean rooms with en suite bathrooms, a communal kitchen, and all fittings and appliances (kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom) are modern. But in all my years of traveling and vacationing, I've never met more hospitable and kind owners as Chris and Cindy. They'll tell you all the good spots to scope out in La Cruz, they'll make reservations at restaurants for you, they'll call you a cab. On arrival we had a plate of chips and guacamole, churros, and margaritas on our patio. If you stay 7 nights, they'll come pick you up from the airport and make you a delicious meal on the roof top patio (which has sweeping views of the bay). We only stayed 6 nights, but because it was the quieter season they picked us up from the airport anyway. Oh, and as soon as we got in the car, they plied us with a cooler of beer and refreshing wash cloths! It's truly not just a vacation destination; it's an experience.

Cindy and Chris are wonderful hosts! I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is to stay at Villa Amor del Mar. This friendly place is beautifully decorated, very clean and right on the beach! The beds are fantastic! Stay here! You won’t be disappointed.

This is an amazing resort. The location is breath-taking and the amenities are 5 star. My girlfriend and I stayed for 10 days and not only plan to return but would recommend it to our closest family and friends. We especially enjoyed the owners, Chris and Cindy. They do a fantastic job at making you feel valued. During our stay, we were greeted with smiles and friendly conversation daily. They recommended wonderful locations for us to soak in the true culture of La Cruz. Thanks to them we got to visit Tacos on the Street, Bucerias, and what should be world renown, Philos. Thank you Chris and Cindy for memories we shall never forget.

My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to stay at Villa Amor del Mar this past May while our boat was hauled out for repairs. Cindy and Chris were great hosts and the accommodations were perfect, much better than your typical hotel experience. When you step onto the property you feel like you have arrived to your own private paradise. The view of Banderas Bay from our room was beautiful. The quaint town of La Cruz is full of great little places to eat and lots of good local music. We would go again in a heartbeat! Thank you Cindy and Chris!

My husband and I just spent the most amazing 10 day vacation at Villa Amor del Mar in early November 2017. The owners' of this beautiful boutique inn are a lovely couple who went out of their way to make this a vacation we will never forget and we will definitely be returning there in the future. Thank you Chris and Cindy!! We spent most of our days relaxing around the pool, reading, staring at the ocean view and walking the beautiful beach into town for dinner. There are lots of great restaurants in La Cruz. One night during our stay we were also treated to dinner/music under the stars on the deck by our hosts which was delicious. If I had to describe our stay at Villa Amor del Mar in one word it would be "Unique".

Cindy and Chris are the best! The hotel and grounds are immaculate, the views magnificent and they you feel like an invited guest-like family. They are attentive to every detail and you want for nothing- their frienship is genuine! This was my second visit and I will be back! thank you guys for everything!

Villa Amor del Mar is an absolutely delightful boutique hotel nestled onto a quiet beach in the heart of La Cruz. Myself and my girlfriend found ourselves in desperate need of a quiet and relaxed getaway and we were absolutely not disappointed. Besides the beautiful decor, fresh breakfast treats every morning, wonderful location etc etc. What really makes this spot shine are the owners. Cindy and Chris are truly special people who absolutely love what they do and it’s apparent that sharing their gifts with others is what gets them up on the morning. They have found their calling. From airport pick up, to home cooked special meals on the outstanding roof top patio, not a beat was missed. Anything Cindy could do to make our trip more relaxing was done in an instant. This also includes booking spa treatments(also on the rooftop patio), boat trips, taxi’s, dinner reservations and so on. I would highly recommend Villa Amor del Mar to anyone looking to refresh and relax. Thank you both!
